MGS 4 SW = 3 million.
PS3 HW = 500k

Some people need to eat some serious crow.

 This is clearly too high.

We just got more data (look at the updated article) and first day sales are roughly 1.3 million now. The article said hardware sales will more than double, not more than tripple

So preliminary estimate is 120K PS3 HW for NA during "MGS4-week".

What did I predict.. 100K, but then I probably massively over-estimated EU sales (140K) based on the assumtion that EU will get the 80GB together with bundle.

 But EU never got the 80Gb BC SKU of PS3, rite? Just a regular bundle.

i think 1st day sales will be very good for a high profile game as well as the consoles sold, but mgs4 will be one of them rare games that will catch a gamers eye all year round to play it, especially at xmas

Don't listen to the people who are trying to point out the game won't have any legs, let's be honest here, even if this game had sold 2.5 million software and 500k hardware on the first day people would find a way to detract from its success, so it was doomed to unwarranted criticisms from the start.

It has truly exceeded all (reasonable) expectations, so we should be enjoying these numbers.

 What is your expections for first week in NA and Others?

I believed I predicted 1.4 million and 250K hardware.

I also stated i was being conservative with my prediction to get certain people off my back.

I have to say, very impressed with the 1.3 million first day number.

I´d say somewhere around 1 million for Metal Gear each, with 120k consoles in America and 150k in Europe. That´s nothing official, though, just predictions. Japan should see sales of 50-75k PS3 and 400-500k Metal Gear Solid units... but I´m not that good in predicting things...

 I'm going to say a bit more console sold in US... around 140K, A lot of places have people lining up for MGS4 bundle and almost completely sold out at this point.

I will say PS3 outselling Wii this week in Japan.
