 Same here. I had gotten into playing Tales of Symphonia, Sim City 4, Civ 4, America's Army, Battlefield 2, and that was it, with no intentions of buying another system at all. That was until I saw the motion controls for the Wii, then I decided to switch my GC Twilight Princess pre-order over to a Wii version, and now I'm buying games like crazy.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

 I hear ya, buddy   I just got out of my first year of university, and the budget was tight!  Still bought myself roughly a game a month, though (due to different strokes of luck).

 

I'm a PSWii60 owner, but if we're talking about if Wii never existed, I think I can still post here, because I think I would have only gotten a 360--my reason being that I firmly believe it would be a dominant market leader if not for Wii.  I think that, it being seen as the 'cheap' console of the gen, it would have gotten the most sales by far since its' games are so similar to PS3's.  Only LBP and KH3 (which would be PS3-exclusive in this scenario) would sway me once PS3 was much cheaper.



Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I would be a Xbox 360 owner. There is no way I could justify the price of a PS3, especially since I don't own a HDTV yet.

I gave away my PS2; I kept a Gamecube mostly for neighborhood children who constantly played Super Smash Brothers and sometimes MK Double Dash. I would sometimes play with them. I played on the PC especially COD. Truth was I was getting tired of gaming because the learning curve for the controls on each game was too steep for the time I had. The games looked better and better but I was enjoying them less and less.I would probably have quit gaming completely and I definitely never planned to buy another console. The Wii with the more intuitive hand control really got me back into gaming. I guess you would put me down as someone getting ready to jump in the blue ocean before the Wii. I have no interest whatsoever in purchasing a PS3 or X360.

I'd of stayed with PC - eventually I'd of gotten a PS3, but not until maybe the price droped to about $200

I was going to say 360, but looking at its game catalog... but right now its games just don't interest me. The only title that does is Banjo-Threeie... and well, that's not out yet.

So I guess I would go PC, with the definitive versions of Bioshock and The Orange Box (I'm not a huge fan of shooters, but these titles are great, and I love Team Fortress 2). I'll no doubt be playing some quirky custom map on WarCraft III as well. Eat your heart out WinterMaul!

Has anybody noticed that once the US came online the thread moved from predominately "would have got a PS3" to "would have got a Xbox360". Shows there is a potential for PS3 Europe and Xbox360 US trend to continue.

I would own an XBox 360. Any game that there is on PS3 that I'd want is also on the Xbox 360 and it also has other games that I'd like (Halo, Bioshock). Also, to me, there is no justifying the PS3's price tag. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as anti-Sony. All three are nice systems in there own way.
