Forums - Nintendo - Who thought Mario Kart Wii was hard?

I still haven't played the Wii version, but I've played all the other Mario Karts and found the SNES one the hardest to finish. I don't know what anyone else thinks but i found the 150cc Star and Special Cups just brutal.

I have 3 stars in everything. The 150cc felt really cheap to me, like getting tanked in the last turn of the last lap of the last race of a cup. It just made me come back for more until I got that 3 star monkey off my back.

However, I think multiplayer is more fun than ever before (especially with friends) and I really love the time trials as it's more centered around finding the right lines as opposed to snaking of old.

To qualify that, I was the biggest snaking bastard in MK64, MKDD, and MKDS, but truth be told I'm happier with bikes finding the right line and wheeling my way through a straight.

The one that gave me the most problems by far was mirror cup. I'm HORRIBLE after I know a track inside and out, trying to do it flipped. Those always took me forever, but it was mostly my failing rather than items.

the game is harder than the other games before it, but it wasnt as hard as brawl in my opinion

Its hard and can be quite frustrating at times when you get a couple blue shells late in the last lap, however, that isn't every race and if you keep practicing and unlocking better karts/bikes you can get various star ratings throughout the whole game.

Why are people saying this is a hard game? Iv had wayyyyyy more trouble playing the previous games, and this is the first one iv ever beat completly. The only track i have touble with is rainbow road!!!!! curses!

online is tough... can't get 9999 vr points :/

Not hard as such, but far more dependent on luck than it should be. Both in single player and online, it's too easy to go from cruising at the front as a result of solid driving to struggling at the back due to a successon of unavoidable attacks. You might say that that's part of the game, but it's a part of the game that can lead to enormous frustration, especially when it happens time and again. For me, reviewers were right to highlight this as a weakness and score the game accordingly.

it is hard getting 3 star rank

It only depends on luck when you're of the same level as the people playing with you.

It's much easier than the other MK.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

I think with the Wheel the game is hard to master, I still haven't, but with wiimote-nunchuck is easy.
