I was just saying that the wii will always sell out, no matter the supply cause demand is high. I said nothing of who was buying the games... Where praytell did you get that from?

Wii is killin' everything. Even with GTA's release it managed to outsell the PS360. Ninty knew what they were doin' when they released Mario Kart in the same week.

What can dethrone the Wii now if GTA couldn't do it?

 Gee, how terrible.  Let's go back a few weeks...

Oh, look! SSB:B outsold the entirety of the PS3 + 360 software sales combined!!! ZOMG!!!

Perhaps, rather than a 'clear win for any HD game', this is more of 'something to be expected when the most anticipated game among hardcore gamers on the console comes out.'

Remember the Wii is dead though. These sales are meaningless. ^_^

MS and Sony: "Yes, we just sold gazillions of the greatest game of all time!!!!!!"


Nintendo: "What's that, a mosquito?"


Rubang: "Yawn, business a usual.  Wake me up when Wii Fit comes out in the US."


Nubs: "Crap, Halo 3 didn't work, and now THIS?!?!?  Uh, what's next in the playbook?  Oh shit, yeah uh just wait until the REAL games drop like MGS4 and FF13!  Then let's see what happens!"

This is basically what I would have said.

Obviously if the Wii wouldn't have Mario Kart (and to an extent, SSB:B), the software would look a lot worse, but these software sales are going to be so inflated due to the huge first week sales that these types of games produce. We're going to have to wait 3 or 4 weeks to see where sales settle to say who really "won" the war of Wii vs HD and 360 vs PS3.

Edit: On second look, the 360 version of GTA4 sold 2.3 million, and the Wii had 2.9 million software sold, so you're first sentence isn't true.

Perhaps under your kind of logic you could think that getting both HD systems numbers is not correct,but even if GTA4 was launched in only one system it will surely got that numbers,so my first sentence is true Stever89,I always respect your assumptions but like you say,we have to wait a little longer to see the hardware boosts (like if Wii is getting another short supply,or an increment or decrement in HD consoles) and the legs of these games(great everyone of them by the way - GTA4,SMK Wii,SSBM - )

400,000, that is just plain ridiculous. The crazy thing is, it could be selling somewhat near that number every week if it didn't have supply problems.

Good for PS3 beating 360, hopefully it shows in NPD.
