both versions of the game are excellent

My buddy just got a sweet Toshbia 52" LCD. They don't sell this particular model at Best Buy, becuase it's kind of a botique TV (too high end for best buy). He also recently got a PS3 to compliment his 360 -- he's on his third, by the way. Before I bought my 360, I talked to him for a while about which system he'd recommend, and he said that games generally just played better on the 360. Framerates were often better (he claimed this was the case with CoD4 -- he also pointed out that Ratchet & Clank had low framerate in some areas), and colors almost always looked better for cross platform games. Plus, there weren't enough good exclusives for the PS3. It's funny because I was leaning toward the PS3, and I hate the 360 reliability problems which are absolutely still an issue with the Falcon models (many more people with Falcon models reported failures over the weekend in the SA forums), but I got a 360 anyway.

cod4 runs ultra smoothly offline and online, ratchet and clank mabey the smoothest game out this generation so far.

While I completely agree that this argument is tired and useless, realize that "professional" reviewers face the same circumstances. Most magazines have more than one person reviewing the game and it's likely that each person is playing on a separate television. Probably in a different room. Maybe not even at the same time... All in all, this is stupid. They're both close enough where it doesn't matter. The game has enough other flaws to gripe about, we don't need to start counting bushes while you're speeding through Chase Island (or whatever the hell it's called). |
Totally agree - my meaning on mentioning the reviews is that the reviews (right or wrong) are written and they're not going to change based on anything posted on these or any other forums.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
Ive played both and the 360 has better graphics i think but the 360 has also more pop up, but you really only notice the pop ups bad when your going really fast. Rockstar made a awesome game on both systems and we should just thank them for the great quality for both systems

My friend evilman, has both games runnin in HD, and he says the PS3 version looks much better, and that the 360 version has the same effect as seen in vice city stories on the psp when you drive too fast the textures are one, and everything looks like a ps1 game.

I agree that the PS3 version looks better but........surely you're exaggerating?

Look at who you're quoting...
I had a dream last night where I was playing both versions of GTA4 on two identical TV-sets (42 inch plasmas I think... the dream was a bit blurry, but I think they were Panasonics). I made a side-by-side comparison, and I'd have to say the X360 version was slightly better.
May I point out that the fact that we are having this arguement with no clear winner, just points out that they are basically the same. If you saw the IGN comparison (it was Insider, but could be viewed elsewhere) it showed (IMO) the PS3 one as being slightly better (though the GT one made 360 slightly better) but what they said was that you should just get the ones that your friends have, cause the games are basically identical
ps3... faster load times, sharper,(turn up the contrast and brightness a bit in the star menu, i play on a bright tv already but it really seemd to make it look better), SIXAXIS is way fun for driving anything, system wont start on fire! sorry had to go there. did anyone see that gametrailers comparison video? that is about the most fake thing i have ever seen. the ps3 version looks like something youd play on the xbox1!(horrible) you can tell that the picture is lower resolution or quality because its so pixelated and blurry. dont believe everything you see aparently.
