This game being delayed into next year would be very bad. Earlier this year most honest posters would have said Sony had the lineup to beat. Sony could very easily go from first to worst. The delays are going to start taking their toll on the platform especially if gamers become even more jaded about the consoles prospects. Worse yet the delays of multiple platform titles are not doing Sony any favors with their smaller library.

A lot of posters flaunt the dictum that a bad game is bad forever and a delayed game is eventually good. However a delayed lineup no matter how good the games are is equally bad. Consistency of delivery matters to consumers. Hell it has always mattered. Nobody likes famines, and nobody likes to pay more for a console to get the lesser lineup experience.

I sincerely hope this source is wrong for the PS3 owners on these forums. Were the delays good for the console last year? They most certainly were not, and they are no better this year. The console already has a bad moniker in the Delaystation. The console does not need the stigma amplified by having another large title slip beyond the proverbial horizon. Too many owners have already spent a year chasing the sunset.

 Titles slipping.  Home slipping. Online features promoted long ago not coming. 

 All consoles and developers are gonna have stuff slip fromt ime to time, but it just seems like everything on the platform that anyone cares about gets delayed and delayed.  And then when it comes out it's all good stuff, but not earth-shattering stuff. 

 We are still waiting for stuff that was advertised in the holiday ads like it was already out.



Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Well it would make sense. They probaly need the extra time to polish it up. With Resistance 2 its possible sony thought they may cannablize each others sales.

 Except it's not a rumor. It was confirmed by a Guerilla employee. Anyway, you will soon now when next week during Sony Gamers Day they talk about the games coming out this year. You will notice the absence of KillZone 2 from that event.

well, if it IS indeed delayed until next year due to clashes of AA games.

Then I at least expect them to have a public Demo or beta out by the end of this year.

It was either going to be KZ2 or R2 that got pushed back, it would only make sense that KZ2 did since R2 has more hype behind it now. If Sony released two first party FPS games relatively close to each other, they'd be stupid,.

If any thing , Resistance  should be push back, the first one was out not long ago, but the more killzone is pushed, the more regular it will look.

Somehow I doubt this was delayed because of Resistance 2. Microsoft launched a bevy of first party titles late last year. I think it is because Killzone 2's development has fallen behind.

If this is true, I have one thing to say...

Pathetic.

If KZ2 doesn't release in 2008, it will mark the second year Sony enters a holiday season with a shotgun full of blanks. R2 should be good but honestly, it won't do shit compared to Gears. LBP is a niche game. I'll play them both but it's hard to get too excited about either one when you look at some of the offerings coming to the Wii and 360 during the same season.

I think it might be for KZ2 development time but then wasn't KZ2 due to release last year ? I think it wouldn't be right to associate the problem with a cause just yet , espeicaly without any inside info .
