It's definitely a great game especially the multiplayer... i picked it up this morning at Best Buy despite the fact that i still had reservations about the game after reading reviews and was worried I'd be disappointed, well all my fears were thrown aside the minute fired the game up! I spent about 3 hours playing GP mode and cleared all the 50cc races now I just started playing the 100cc class and I love the bikes, even more so than the karts. The Wii wheel was fun too although I find mapping the items to the d-pad to feel a bit unnatural for a MK veteran like myself. Online was flawless, the complete opposite of Brawl on its release day, ugh what a nightmare. No lag whatsoever, and I like the points system, it works out alot better then simply doing like say a 4 race match like on MK DS because you dont have to worry about people constantly dropping out just because they lost a race, that IMO was a huge flaw in MK DS's online. I just wish that the graphics didn't look kinda washed out and blurry, as if the brightness and contrast on my tv set was jacked all the way up. Other then that I'm very happy with MKWii, even moreso than Brawl believe it or not!

Final verdict... MK Wii > MK DS > MK 64 > MK DD... however SNES MK is still the one MK to rule them all!

I actually love the d-pad as you can now control better the direction to shoot the item or to hold it. Back then you had to pull the analog stick back for a sec to shoot green shells and stuff backwards, now its easier.

My only concern is: I am never loosing. I mean I played all the 50CC and came in first in all tracks first time playing (with wheel). then i started first cup in 100CC and the same stuff. always came in first. I hope this changes in 150CC and that it gets a challenge like Diddy Kong racing was on the 64.

Just go online and you'll see some real challenge :)

I would LOVE to. Problem: I am offline at home...

If someone can tell me how to easily connect the wii using vodafone data card on my laptop, I will be highly appreciative.

I am no expert on this kinda stuff, but I don't think you actually can. A Vodafone data card is a wireless reciever rather than a transmitter that the Wii wants...

well, you would need to establish communication between wii and laptop, for sure...

With that setup, I think your only possibility is to:

1- Buy a Wii LAN adapter.
2- Connect the Wii to the laptop with a network cable using your LAN adapter.
3- Set up Internet Connection Sharing on the laptop (it's very easy to do if you're using Windows).
4- Put your laptop's IP address as your gateway and DNS server on the Wii, which should enable it to use your laptop as the gateway to the internet.

I don't know how good those cards are for online gaming though, in the worst case you could get lots of lag. If you know someone who has a Wii LAN adapter you can borrow, test it that way.

PS: It doesn't work with WiFi because the Wii doesn't support ad-hoc wireless connections.

umm, sounds interesting, thanks. Only problem: work laptop so maybe they dont want me to mess too much.

Probably I will be walking around my appartment building asking if somwone got wireless internet - maybe they share for 5 buck a month or so.

After playing this game for my first time I would have to say that it's probably the best Mario Kart game ever made. That's saying alot because I absolutely adore Mario Kart 64. This game has tons of awesome old school tracks and all of the new one are great too. The Wii Wheel is awesome. It really makes you feel like your driving. People complaining about the graphics are being silly. Mario games have never been about the graphics. They always have been cartoony and I always want them to look cartoony. A realistic looking Mario would be terrible.

I'm looking for an informed opinion: would MK be fun for a non-gamer? My sister's birthday is coming up, she has a Wii but only plays Wii sports and now Wii Fit on it and isn't interested in regular gaming. Would she enjoy MK?

I keep getting my ass kicked by some dude I friended named Brissle....I don't know which person on here coincides with that name on MKwii.....but he certainly used Europe's extra time with MKwii to his advantage, and is raping me.

Brissie, that's Chrizum here on VGC. He's that good now? Wow. That's cool, it will make the VGC league more interesting.

Unsure if he's extremely good, I could just be fairly bad. Just got it today so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Is your Mii name something like Subirazou or somethig equaly Japanese sounding? If so, you were one of the better Americans playing.

And no, I'm not really good at Mario Kart, I think I'm above average though. Rol and TWRoO (Larry Lion) kick my ass, but I think I'm the third best player (maybe equal to Rolf) on this site at the moment.

I usually finish 1st of 2nd as long as Rol isn't playing.

You loudmouth. If you're a man you stop bragging about the online vs matches and start beating my Time Trial times
And Rolf is actually not really on this site anymore...
