Wtf are you thinking? Maybe 350k? the Wii sold 430k last week w/ out WiiFit or Korea in the picture or Golden week. The Wii sold 170k in others last week... I think my 220 could be low for other, but I did not want to get ridiculous on my predictions. I did not low ball it, but I was more conservative than I could have been.

I honestly believe Nintendo knew that GTA4 was their biggest hurdle of the year, and they planned for it... they are unleashing Wii from the Week ending April 26th, Until the end of may... then they will pull back supply and start to build a holiday stockpile.

And like I said GTA4 will no doubt overshadow all that week in the world of the gamer... but not in the "blue ocean"

I thought Iwata said that would be in july in his announcement with the third party sales graphs.

If Nintendo ships enough units, the PS3 nor the 360 have any sort of chance of outselling it worldwide.

Again, I seriously doubt PS3 or 360 will sell over 400,000 units worldwide on GTAIV week.

Nintendo will certainly do so, if enough units are shipped.

So what of this imaginary "Blue ocean" GTA 4 targets, hardcore, core, and casual gamers.

GTA 4 will hurt the wii very hard, it might not get through it.

GTAIV will help the PS3 and 360, but very little damage will be done to the Wii, mostly because it just wouldn't anyway, but there is WiiFit and Mario Kart as a bumper, which means (shipments allowing) Wii sales will only be up in the coming weeks, despite GTAIV

I just saw the release schedule box on the front page, it seems it is releasing in Japan the same day, but I thought it was releasing on the 26th in the USA anyway (yesterday by GMT now), I guess I was wrong. (I thought it was a day before Mario Kart)

Hahaha leo-j "it might not get through it" I wonder when will you start posting seriously. You have derailed to the delusional path.

OT: Wii Fit will obviously push sales in Others, and the effect will be bigger due to MKWii being just released. In America if rumours are true, then another 200-250k. Japan Golden Week historically shows that consoles do get a boost, so all in all Wii >PS3 or 360 on that week.

Mario kart wii is the worst of the series, but casuals wont see this. I  agree.

If all you're using is IGN then MKWii isn't the worst of the series, it appears to be Double Dash, I'll have to keep checking to know for sure. Regardless, quit making claims about MKwii that goes against reviews and then using reviews to disprove a claim about GTAIV

GTA IV won't overshadow what Wii has coming out. Same people said Halo 3 would do it and wow did they end up wrong.

The only way GTA IV could hurt Wii, is if Wii had nothing going on at the same time. Unfortunately for the rest, Wii has Wii Fit and MK Wii going on during that week. Meaning it won't lose any brand appeal or media attention. Hell might even gain some as the mainstream media and general consent will go for MK Wii and Wii Fit over the very controversial GTA IV.
