Forums - Nintendo - Why did you bought a wii?

I bought it so all the PS3 supporters would cry in agony. One more sold to make it millions.

Sorry about the thread title.

Sorry that it derailed your topic.  You're not really to blame.  There needs to be an edit option of some kind...and the only way you're going to learn is to make mistakes.  As said before...most of the users around here who speak english as their first language make more mistakes than the average non-native speaker around here.  Just know taht the title shoudl have said "Why did you buy a wii?" instead of what you had.  Basically the "did" makes the sentence past tense...the main verb in the sentence doesn't need to change.

This is true with all helping verbs...

did, would, could, should.  They carry the tense markers.

I thought the games were going to be better than they were.

Thanks,by the way I already knew that did change the whole sentence to the past. I guess I didn't  proofread my title. That's why I made the mistake. The other time the same think happened to me with another thread,I also think there must be a edit option for the title.

Well.. abit. I'm a Nintendo Whore and I have been ever since I played my first console. Growing up with the company I can't turn my back on them now. Expessially only costing around 300$ and having a lot of first party games that could never live with myself if I never own.

The Nintendo games, I always wanted to try out the motion controllers and the VC games

Cos I buy every Nintendo console at launch knowing I will be guaranteed great Mario games, Zelda, etc.

The "edit title" button should be for mods AND topic creators.

Here's the only problem I see with giving that control to users....

Suggest you create a thread with the title "Post Here if You Love Nintendo"

Then everyone who loves Nintendo comes in, signs their name, and leaves.

Then the thread creator hits the little "edit thread title" button and changes the word "Nintendo" to "2 Girls and a Cup."

Do you see the hijinks that could be avoided by only giving that power to mods?

Let me ask you then, in your situation, what is the underlying problem?  Is it the feature itself or a user abusing it?

You're always going to have troublesome users, spammers...etc, but the solution needs to fit the problem.  If one user starts spamming posts, do you take away everyone's ability to post?  Of course not, that would be absurd.  You're not solving the problem by doing that.

The solution is simply to add a line to the forum rules that says not to abuse the feature and then enforce that rule.  Problem solved.

I know this works because there are other forums out there that let the Topic Creator edit the title and they don't have these problems.  Did they have the problems you describe at first?  Maybe, but time and rule enforcement conditioned the users to understand what uses of the feature were acceptible and what weren't.
