If Playstation disappeared, I guess it would have to be Xbox then. Or maybe PC, but I would have to have the PC in the living room and hooked to the TV so that I could play from the couch. Do people do that?

One my my PCs is hooked up that way. And it's not some mini PC or something, proper Midi Tower that is hidden behind TV.

Absolutely, exclusively how I play.  HDMI from GPU to TV, eARC to surround sound.  I use a xbox wireless controller.

I am a retro gamer with a diverse portfolio, so I don't really have this problem lol.

Same for me.

Plus, a very healthy backlog of titles to play.

Exactly. The only problem we have is in deciding what the heck we want to play lol. For me, that means boxing and unboxing, because I get choice paralysis. I can't keep everything hooked up at once like some retro gamers. I can only have one out at a time. But that's okay. There's worst things in the world. And besides, it's a far better problem than being a modern gamer and having to deal with what's currently taking place. If that were me, I'd probably just give up entirely and find something else to do.

I play primarily on Nintendo and Sony in that order.
I would have said Nintendo to Sony but Sony has been way too anti-consumer lately so I would go with PC. I have no intention of supporting Sony on their next console. They can keep their all digital future and "leveraging" (see bend over) the players they manage not to lose.

If PC is included, then… well duh! Lol. I can simply emulate my Switch 2 library there, alongside all my other Nintendo games.

My current platform is PS5, as all the games i care for and excite me come for that console. If it were to disappear, id move to Switch2, tho i can imagine i would scale down my gaming a lot, since the amount of games i care for that are in Nintendo consoles is much more reduced, as the recent Nintendo consoles proved to me. My Switch ended up just getting dust several times.

That said, i find this to be the inevitable outcome in due time, considering Sony's current tendencies.

I've been Nintendo/Playstation for quite a while. I'm leaning towards being done with Playstation once the PS5 is no longer supported. If Nintendo went under I would probably just call it a day, and put my gaming time elsewhere.

If PC/steam went away...... I'd likely be on a PlayStation.

My most played game, these days is Path of Exile 1 & 2.... They basically alternate release of new patches, and seasons.
So I play one, and then wait for the next, play that, and return to the other ect.
It is by far my most played games now.

If I'm in a lul, I go replay a rpg or start up a new one.

I know PlayStation also has Path of Exile.
I'm addicted to those games, so I'd be there, if PC/steam went away.

I would have to revert back to Nintendo from PlayStation. Nintendo has exclusives and some third-party games.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 159 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million, then 161 million)

PS5: 116 million (was 105 million, then 115 million, then 122 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

So a lot of console players would resort to PC if their preferred console maker closed shop it looks like, as well as a lot of Nintendo + Sony players jumping from one to the other.
