On the topic of less is more: man this site has been bone dry this past seven days. What's going on? Like I've never seen this place so unusually quiet... can't find many threads breaking past one or two pages. I appreciate the small, cozy environment of VGChartz, but with how quiet things have been here, I've actually started dipping my toes into other forums like NeoGAF and GameFAQs. A little too big for my liking but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I think it's just that things have been very quiet in terms of gaming news since the last round of shows and stuff. There's less big happenings to discuss so people check in less. These things tend to cycle, things usually pick up a bit once there's more to talk about.

In late October? We just had Phantom Blade Zero debut as the highest rated game of the year, the Xbox COO resigned, Switch 2 just got annihilated by AI (MKWorld is now playable on PC, for instance), OoTRemake and GTAVI are on the horizon, and I can just keep on going. This site is just toast, I really don't see any other way around it.

Most Xbox discussion gets relegated to their official thread, and isn't Phantom Blade an 88 on MC, so not the highest of the year?

Ocarina and GTA I think will generate more talk once they are out and people share impressions/opinions, so soon.

Well it was sitting at a 92OC for a while. Dropped down to 89OC today. But no buzz at all is a bit surprising. There was also the axing of the studio behind Exodus, Dragon Age, and Baldur's Gate (I'm forgetting the name...).

Yeah Bioware being shuttered has generated some discussion for sure, was just about the check that one actually.

I've been trying to think of a good Nintendo thread all morning but I think all this stress has fried my brain haha

On the topic, I definitely feel that there is a bit of "choice paralysis" when you have many consoles, where I am tempted to drop games midway so I can start one of the other bazillion games in my backlog. I didn't really have this problem most of last gen when Switch 1 was my only post-Wii U system. Or mabe my ADHD's just getting worse with age haha

I do definitely feel like being spoiled for choice means I appreciate the 7/10 or 8/10 games less, cos there's always the thought that "why keep playing this when the next one could be a 9/10"

Well let me just say that if ever you need ideas, I can easily come up with like ten on the spot. Lol! I have to hold off from posting all my thread ideas— I feel like this site can handle only so many firebush03 threads.

I used to be able to do that like 6 years ago, but I feel like cognitive decline has kicked in young for me lmao. If you do have any spare ideas you don't feel like using, feel free to DM me, and I'll workshop em into something haha

I did finally come up with an idea though! https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread/250990/im-glad-nintendo-did-more-of-a-traditional-generational-transition-with-s1-to-s2/1/

I already have too many games to play and not enough space for new consoles, so yes, less is more. I'm not necessarily opposed to owning more than just one console each generation, but I'm definitely not interested in spreading my focus across all the possible options.

One console.
Even with just one console I have way more than enough. It’s a time thing, not a money thing.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
