I think Wolverine underperformed everywhere. In the UK it was outsold this week by Cyberpunk. The IP isn't as big as spiderman but I think it's big enough to outsell Ghost of Yotei but again it failed that feat in the UK

Well that's a bit of a spin for the UK charts this past week. It went from #1 the week prior to #4 this past week because there was 2 brand new releases in EA Sports FC 27 and Silent Hill: Townfall. Also, Cyberpunk went from #39 to #3 because of a 70% discount on the Ultimate edition. So Wolverine holding at #4 in its second week with all the above is still holding quite well in the UK.

Games with huge launch momentum aren't so easily overtaken in their second week re Cyberpunk, I'm not calling it a disaster or anything but it seems obvious it's under performing. Selling less than Ghost of Yotei is enoug to make that point tbh.

That may be the case but we don't know for sure yet what the overall numbers are, it sold less than Yotei in "boxed sales" which are now at an all time low and to be honest those charts are increasingly useless without the digital data side. (Much like Famitsu will become in future years)

We don't know anything about digital sales as of yet and in terms of huge launch momentum not easily overtaken, you're talking about the UK and EA Sports FC 27 here. (AKA FIFA)  No game outside of GTA and maybe certain COD games would not be overtaken by the EA Sports games at launch. The only thing we can deduce from the charts you're referencing is that it's under performing physically in boxed sales in the UK which Christopher Dring already mentioned the top 10 list physically there is very low numbers to begin with.

It's the same concept as when for years in the past when NPD would drop and a game for example charted at #7 without digital data but often times if it included it to begin with that title would have been #1, we've seen that time and time again. So I am inclined to wait for more data from NPD and Sony's own quarterly report on November 10 to know the full story on the title. We are not getting much from a boxed sales list in the UK near the end of 2026.

Regardless, my overall point still stands. The top 10 UK physical list is always small numbers according to Dring, other than huge week 1 releases. Again, Cyberpunk was discounted by 70% so of course there was a rush for it since it was dirt cheap. There's usually only a 1 to 2k difference tops in the top 10 list between spots. It's such a small sample these days that you can't extrapolate it regardless if you want to cherry pick a #3 over 4 spot in a very limited scenario. If there was no heavy discount on Cyberpunk that week then Wolverine would have been #3. It's moot. Just wait for the official data to confirm or not.
