Forums - Gaming - Honestly, people should give more credit to Remedy

Since the first Alan Wake, I always get hyped for a new Remedy title. From the amazing visuals, to the deep plots, their titles usually deliver us a lot. But I feel like this company is not getting all the recognition it deserves.

We have CONTROL: Resonant as their new title, and according to the reviews, it's as good as the first game, what is something not easy for an sequel to achieve. A couple of years ago we had Alan Wake II, a game that while it got amazing reviews, and won 3 GOTY awards, it had modest sales, enough to break even and give royalties to Remedy, but still it definitely deserved more.

So, what do you think?

I think Alan Wake 2 is pretty trash tbqh. Was actually in relief when I finished the game and could delete it off my PS5.

That said, I love Control lol. And I do appreciate them doing their own thing, so I hope they keep making games for years to come.

I did quite enjoy Alan Wake 1 and Quantum Break; if Control and Alan Wake 2 get ported to Switch 2 I'd give them a go for sure.

It's nice to have a dev with their own somewhat unique style.

Their games never clicked with me and Break was terrible. Esp the shitty TV show bullshit. God fucking awful.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Only played Control... out of those listed by OP.
It was "okay".... Why should they get more credit? To me they are just "the guys that made control".

The only semi horror games I'll even consider playing are like Doom? (if that counts?) and Resident Evil.
All I really know about Alan Wake II, is that DF thought it had pretty lighting.

This is just personal tastes, but Remedy isn't anything special to me.

To be honest, they peaked with alan wake 1. Even though 2 had some fantastic moments, it doesn't quite live up to the standard of the first one. The pacing of the first game is unbelievable, and the gameplay was consistently brilliant

Loved Max Payne 1 and 2, didn't care for anything they've made after that.

I appreciate weird and surreal stuff so in that sense I am happy they are around. But Control didn’t quite reach the mark. The combat felt good, but got repetitive and only a few of the weapons felt useful. The story felt disjointed and those documents with 50% redacted didn’t help. Very nice visuals though, and Alan Wake 2 is still on my to-play list.
