Top 10 dominated with new releases. Rhythm Heaven Groove seems to have had a decent second week.

In terms of hardware, Switch 2, Switch 1, and Xbox Series are all down week-on-week and year-on-year, while PS5 is up for both.

Switch 2 needs better DLSS, slightly higher clock profiles, additional core, and memory for multiplatform games to look and run better. Nintendo needs a new killer game that's not Zelda and Mario to sell more consoles. Right now, I see no need to buy Switch 2 from a PC enthusiast perspective.

Maybe Nintendo is not trying to appeal to a PC enthusiast. Say what you want about Nintendo, but they know who they are and what their fans like. If you are not a part of that group, it is ok. Everyone should choose the ecosystem that makes them feel better.

Exactly! And then on top of all of that, raise the price to $800USD. That's exactly what the industry needs right now. /s

(Also, PC enthusiasts aren't the ones who want an overclocked Switch 2. That would be the casual crowd, who salivate over games such as GTAVI and RDR2.)

Nintendo can implement all of those improvements without raising the price. I mentioned those, since I am looking to get Switch 2 Pro if they release it. Right now, Nintendo is limiting themselves with the CNN version of DLSS, low clocks, and allocating to much resources for the OS. Everything can be achieved without raising the price by much. Would you still be willing to shell out $549 for the system that cannot handle multiplatform games at stable 30 FPS?

Switch 2 is down year over year, he's looking at the weekly last year not the YTD. The YTD is so high last year because of the launch.

Ok i see. When he says year-on-year he is comparing week 28 to last year week 28 not year to year.

The digital PS5 has been leading PS5 sales for some time. Its not hard to imagine that this heavily influenced Sony's decision. Digital is running circles around Disc in Japan. Clearly they aren't locked into "western sensibilities' regarding the sanctity of physical. The fact that its cheaper than the Switch 2 now in Japan on adds to its rise.

A lot of stores advertise the disc drive attachment with the Japan PS5 Digital system. I want to know how many disc drives are sold in Japan every week.

Something tells me Switch 2 sales are going to start picking up real soon, especially once we're past this weird period where two NS1 exclusives are the latest big Nintendo releases. There are four Switch 2 exclusives sitting above the likes of GTAVI, Persona, Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest. Definitely not something to scoff at.
