Forums - Gaming - Predict GTA VI physical launch price in US dollars (base PS5/XBS version)

Tagged games:

We are less than a week away from GTA VI preorders, so we are less than a week away from finally knowing how much it will cost. June 25th we'll know the price if it is not announced before the preorders open.

It has been a long lasting joke, and more recently kind of a real concern, that GTA VI might release at the price of $100 USD. Considering how much hardware princing has increased in the last 12 months and that GTA VI is very likely going to be the biggest video game release in history, I think it's still up to debate how much they can charge for it.

So, how much do you think a base version of the game on PS5/XBS will cost? No Deluxe or whatever version.

Use the poll to guess the physical price, if both digital and physical preorders are up and have different prices, even if physical copies preorders don't open at the same day, we'll consider it done only when the physical price is confirmed to match digital or even if it is higher than the digital price, as long as it's the game base version.

While Nintendo has a flimsy excuse for some of their different physical and digital pricing, at least it's because Game Cards are more expensive than UHD Blu-ray.
GTA VI will be $90, and Rockstar won't knock that down to $80 for digital, I don't think so at least.
$80 is the best-case scenario for physical or digital for GTA VI. I'll be shocked if it's $70.

$80. But it'll get discounts/deals/bundles and maybe a permanent pricecut to $70 within a year.

Isnt Mario Kart $90? I think GTAVI will be at least $90

I think it'll be 70$ like other games

I think it'll be the standard price. From their latest financials, it's clear they make the bulk of their money now from online players. They don't need the game to be higher than standard pricing in order to get a healthy return on their investments. So ship as standard price, benefit from the "good" news, great reviews and then sit back and watch the billions roll in for the next decade... or two. That's my guess.

We live in a world where TakeTwo could possibly charge less for GTA6 than Nintendo charge for Fire Emblem.

I'm 50/50 on if it'll be $70 or $80.

$70/80USD is my bet, though I lean toward the latter. IIRC somebody in charge at Rockstar has already come out saying this won’t be a $100USD release. I’d imagine Rockstar wants as much goodwill as they can get given the amount they’ve invested. Too risky to shoot for $90/100USD especially seeing the response to MKWorld.
