Forums - Gaming - So... we're in agreement that this was the greatest E3/SGF season of all time?

Are we in agreement?

- genATLAS [TBD]
?? What is this? Project led by Ueda (director of works such as The Last Guardian, Ico, and Shadow of the Colossus) under his recently founded indie studio, genDESIGN.

- Star Wars: Zero Company [August 27, 2026]
Don't know, dont care. Tactics RPG led by former XCOM and Civilization developers. (With FE:FW dropping in September, however, I'm very torn between which of the two to choose from. Don't want to be playing too many XCOM-like games.)

- Spyro: A Realm Beyond [Spring 2027]
Who is making this? Spyro has been dead for decades upon decades. Toys for Bob. Same team behind the Reignited Trilogy (2018), Crash 4 (2020), as well as Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure (2011). IMO they are among the best in the industry, and have pumped out nothing but bangers since their founding. Highly recommend keeping an eye on this project.

- Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet [Spring 2027]
WTF is Ninjala? Ninjala is a pretty big indie. New release is an open world action adventure. Looks like it could be fun, though I'm personally not super interested. I know a lot of people online who are though.

- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake [2026]
Another remake? Haven't we had enough of these? It would have to be pretty revolutionary compared to the N64 original to get me interested. Watch the teaser trailer. It's a complete reimagining, not just a one-to-one modern-day reskin. Game looks utterly gorgeous! If you like anything Zelda, then I'd imagine you will love this game. Highly recommend keeping an eye out on this one as well.

Well then I'm definitely looking forward to GenAtlas whenever it comes out. I loved TLG and SotC.

I'll probably pass on Zero company. EA publishes it and already has dumb microtransaction crap planned for it. Not to mention it probably won't get a proper physical release.

Okay, yeah. Why the hell don't I own Crash 4? 85 on Metacritic? Damn.

The original Ninjala got a 68 on metacritic so I'll definitely pass. Also I remember it now as a Splatoon clone.

The Ocarina of Time trailer just showed link lying in bed. Where's all this new gameplay at? Is there another trailer that I missed?

It's a good game, but it's definitely quite different from the originals. I think it's too difficult for what it is, but your mileage may vary.

The best since E3 died, yes I can agree on that. But it still isn't the same as during the peak E3 years.

Judging off the teaser trailer, I think there’s reason to conclude that this game will not be a one-to-one recreation. An entirely original, cinematic opening cutscene alongside what appears to be the game running in the BotW/TotK engine tells me this will be a whole lot differrnt than the original. Though maybe I’m jumping the gun here.

Except State of Play, I found others’ announcements enjoyable to some extent. SoP was pretty underwhelming, not even their exclusive games could convince me.
Rather than that, I have seen other games to which I’m looking forward:
Persona 6
SB: Blood Rain
RE: Veronica
DD2: Dark Arisen
Onimusha
FE: Fortune’s Weave
Xenoblade Genesis
Zelda: OOT

That’s it for now.

Since 2020s, sure, but not ever. SGF and Xbox showcase doing most of the heavy lifting here.

Microsoft had a great show after a while, Sony and Nintendo were decent at best, great games overall but the best... no, wish I could agree :/

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
