I don't even know what a SW2 tier CPU is in PC terms. But yeah this port might be just as tough if not tougher than MH Wilds.
I don't know how patches helped but at launch PS5 only ran it at 30-45fps and it dropped into the 20s in cities.
Capcom announced a couple of updates to the game over the next few months leading up to the launch of the Switch 2. Continuing performance improvements is noted.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind
Funny. When I saw the trailer, I was thinking. Not sure if this is running smoothly. Let's wait for the game to release. But still happy with the announcement.

Yeah this is one of the most demanding games yet ported to Switch 2, as it pushes even PS5 and Series X quite hard.
Will be interesting to see how it turns out, if it's good I may bite, I did enjoy the first game on Xbox 360 back in the day.

Does it really push the other consoles or is it just poorly optimized (like a lot of games are nowadays)?
On topic: I played DD1 quiet a lot on the original Switch, not aure if I’ll get this one tho.

A little of both I think; RE Engine's not as optimal as it should be at running open world games, as seen in MH Wilds, but still, DD2 is pushing RTGI in large open settings with a lot of stuff going on, which isn't a lightweight task for current consoles.
If they can get a Switch 2 version looking and running nicely that'll be an admirable feat, but Capcom have showed a knack for pushing the system already with the likes of RE Requiem and Pragmata, so maybe they'll pull it off.
