Was this a setup so 64 would win? Lol. Anyway yeah it’s one of the most revolutionary games of all time, it walked so Galaxy, Sunshine, and Odyssey could run. 3D World and 3D Land should have their own category, I hope Nintendo makes a game in the same vein as those one day.

I guess the public consensus really is Galaxy == Odyssey > 64 > 3D World > Sunshine— I could’ve cut 64, but that would’ve just left 3D World as the winner.

I don’t know if that’s exactly right. In the past three Greatest Games events on VGChartz, Super Mario 64 just edged out Odyssey. And there are a few users in this thread (myself included) who consider Mario 64 top dog without qualification. I wonder if the consensus is actually Galaxy 1 > Odyssey = 64

Why exclude Galaxy and Odyssey?

64 is my favourite without excluding anything.

64 is first, Galaxy 2 second and then Odyssey third.

It would be 64, Galaxy 1 or Odyssey depending on which generation you ask 😌

I wouldn't say it necessarily breaks down along generational lines; I grew up with Mario 64, but Galaxy 1 is my favourite of the series, and Odyssey's also in my all time best list.

I mean, I'm sure age is a factor, just not the only one.
