I recently started to use my original GBA to replay Pokémon Pinball (GBC) and Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories because I missed the original cartridges and hardware. Does that answer your question?

Group of consoles - NES/SNES/N64. While i like the Switch quite a lot, those were the goats. Games back then were something else.

Storage medium - Also NES/SNES/N64. Carts are the goats.

Genesis gave me MUSHA, Assault Suit Leynos, Ranger X,Thunder Force IV,Gleylancer,Alien Solder,Gunstar heroes and a million more amazing games with amazing cover art (Japan anyway) and the best packaging any console has ever had with MD/Genesis clam shell.

SNES has the amazing Nintendo first party games. Invented a new subgenre with Mario Kart and the best Mario ever made in World. So a lot of cool stuff like Metal Warriors,Assault Suits Valken,RPGs up the ass. Cardboard boxes sucked tho. However SNES was the easiest to bypass region locking breaking off 2 tabs in the console cart slot.

PCE/TG16. Hu cards felt so futuristic. A whole *16 bit game in something the size of a credit card? HOW?! How it felt at the time. From Ys, to Blazing Lazers,Lords of Thunder,Legendary Axe to Bonk and so much more. Great games but also one of the coolest cartridge formats ever.

Yeah I was surprised how heavily weighted the poll is to nes/SNES/N64 but I think most of the votes are people not understanding it has nothing to do with which physical media you prefer lol.

I went with GameCube/Wii. Switch is great too but it's far too early in Switch 2 life for that group to win yet for me.

Yeah I feel like some people are still misinterpreting the question, maybe I should edit the OP again haha

Gotcha... I think, lol.

My vote is still for NES/SNES/N64.  I love the Switch but we are still early into the Switch 2's life, so we will have to wait and see if this era can compete with the overall greatness of the NES and SNES.

One thing is for sure - the disc era is easily my least favorite.  I do love the Cube and I really like the Wii... but the WiiU brings that era waaaay down for me by comparison.

Yeah me too tbh, SNES is my favourite system of all time and N64 is my #6. I did love the Wii but the Gamecube and Wii U weren't my thing. Loved Switch 1, second favourite system of all time, but Switch 2's too early to call, though it is off to a strong start.

HuCards and Sega cards were my favorite mediums.

They have most of the advantages of cartridges while being cheaper to produce and much smaller in size, similar to a thickened credit card. As such, my choices are Sega Master system/PC Engine - which is sadly not an option in the poll...

The thread is about which console group is the best when sorted by medium, not which actual medium you like best.

So NES/SNES/N64 vs Gamecube/Wii/Wii U vs Switch 1/2.

Wait what? why is Switch Carts so low? .... they are by far the best so far (in terms of function and abilities).

Are we voting by which we like the "Look" off of most instead?
The NES ones hold a special place in my heart... but.... common, the Switch Carts are awesome.

The thread is not "which medium do you prefer", it's "which group of consoles do you prefer, the ones that used carts, discs, or game cards?"
