Forums - Nintendo - When do you think the last official Switch 1 release will happen? (And why?)

Doubt it. Similar to the Retrobit repros  or new SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive games like ZPF. It's not official. Nintendo isn't making GBA carts anymore to sell to developers. LRG been selling a lot of those in recent years. SNES/Genesis. Game Boy and 3D0.

Thanks; I looked it up and it seems the last official GBA title was Samurai Deeper Kyo in 2008, so 7 years after the system released.

To add a few more, the last official DS game was Big Hero Six in 2014, just a month short of the system's 10's birthday, and the last Wii U game was a pair of Silver Falls games, releasing early in the console's 11th year.

Not as long as some dead systems but considering the console was killed early. In Japan Dreamcast was getting official games until 2007. Karous which recently was re-released on modern consoles. I think it also got a Wii port a full year after the Dreamcast version. So for a moment in time Dreamcast and Wii were getting new games in the same era. I believe Radirgy came to DC in 2006 as well as PS2. DC had a suppy of games post 2001. With Psyvariar 2 in 2004 and Gundam vs Zeon and such. 1998-2007. Not bad for a failed console.

Yeah a failed system still getting official releases 9 years later is quite something, at least before the advent of online stores.

That'd be like a Saturn game coming out in 2003 or a Gamecube game coming out in 2010.

I can totally see an indie game releasing for it in 2035. So, 18 years from the release year.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

If DS wouldn't have been an earth-shattering hit, we probably still would've gotten official GBA titles until 2010. Very few in the last years, but still.

Yeah the GBA got cut artificially short, despite being wildly successful duing the its short time as Nintendo's handheld flagship. It's last game was a bit over 3 years post-replacement, similar to DS.
