Forums - Nintendo - NINTENDO is reportedly circulating false information internally as a deliberate strategy to identify leakers.

Is there any reason to expect this Nintendo Prime person to be correct about anything at all? What is their track record?

I dont follow Nintendo super closely, but I do remember seeing/reading rumors about HD TP and WW ports to NS1, a NS1pro, HD Metroid Prime collection for NS1. All of which dont exist as of April 12 2026. Now we have OOT remake and it all kind of gives off the same vibes.

How do these leakers find something as big as OOT remake, but couldn't find anything on Donkey Kong Banaza which was revealed (catching many people off guard) and then launched shortly after, yet are able to find info on a major title that's 6+ months away? Just feels really odd

The point I was trying to make is that NateTheHate is a generally reliable leaker, so his words should carry more weight than a random Twitter post from a guy with no leak history. Or personal feelings about what is likely and what is not, for that matter.

That's not to say he's going to be right, just that it's more likely than not that he is, barring more reliable contrary evidence (say, someone like Jason Schreier or Nintendo themselves) showing up.

Nintendo Prime isn’t known to be a person with insider info, so I’m surprised he’s even saying anything. As far as the claim of “Mario is delayed” is concerned, this comes also from Nate.

If Nintendo really is spreading false rumors to combat leakers, then a new Star Fox really is too good to be true.

hope they catch them?

I don’t think leaks are good for business

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Because they can kill the hype of new games?

And what exactly has NintyPrime gotten correct? No track record of anything? OK, then.

Nate gets the benefit of the doubt from me until he gets multiple things wrong in succession.

These leaks are nothing that major anyway ... a Star Fox game (love this franchise but it's a C/D tier Nintendo IP in terms of modern sales) and a OoT remake even are not mind blowing news to begin with.

If Nintendo wanted to stop leaks they would have done so with all the Switch 2 hardware leaks ... but Nate was correct on a lot of that stuff and those leaks might as well have been a river by late 2024.

Unlikely. They gave him a big role in the Mario Galaxy movie, he's getting a game. Same thing happened with Donkey Kong.

Nintendo isn't that generous. -_-

I will be shocked if there isn't a SF game. Way to prominent in the movie not to be getting a game
