Forums - Gaming - piracy will kill 360 sales of gta iv?

And you are aware of this how , do you own a pirated copy ? I used to back-up my ps2 games all the time so i'm really using my experience of this to justify it . Pirated games usualy tend to be more buggy and eror prone than retail versions.

It all depends on what release you downladed or the media u use to burn it on, just because it works for some or most of your games it isn´t always the best option to use the usual media to burn on if a game is buggy (not always sometimes there is a problem but then you download another release). Other times you just use a different speed to burn it.

hell no!

I bet your friends are smarter than the average gamer. I don't even know how to pirate games. Most gamers will be happy to pay $70 for an amazing game.

I know a few people that wanted a PS3 but are planning on getting a 360 just for the piracy. As much as you guys think online play will limit piracy your wrong. Look at the PC, its a long known fact that if you pirate a PC game you can;t play it online yet games are pirated like crazy. A co-worker even played Orange Box on the PC with out paying for it and that was something offered by steam. He didnt care that he couldnt go online. He just played it and then deleted it.

it won't rlly affect it much

Damn. I want to have a modded X360 now.

Anyone here know how to mod it?

Plus I need to learn how to burn image files properly.

it will kill some sales but not nearly as bad as the last generation gta on the ps2

It won't affect it by much, if they want the full experience with the online modes, they will have to get the real retail copy. And i dont mean the dlc as the full experiance, just the full game on the disc.

No. Most GTAIV players will be casual players (Madden style casuals, Wii style casuals) and they typically are not as technically proficient as more hardcore or PC gamers.

erm.. the most 'casual' gamers i know (who always ask me for technical advice) who own a wii got it modded right away without asking me for advice, which was out of character .. casuals aren't the idiots you make them out to be

Can't play online, can't get the DLC (I think), can't use for achievements. I just think there would be too many things missing from downloading the game for any decent number to take advantage of the D/L.

Can't enjoy the superior graphics of the PS3 version.

i don't own either a 360 or PS3, so i'm seemingly completely unbiased when i asked this: Is your source anyone in addition to the well-known sony fanboy Hilary who did the IGN review?

Funny then that moderately pro-360 IGN put him on the job of reviewing the game.

That was the IGN review of the game, period.  Advantage: PS3.

EGM, and there was a thread about this earlier today, also said advantage PS3, but gave PS3 the edge both in sharpness AND vibrancy, whereas "fanboy" Hilary gave 360 the advantage in "vibrancy."

LOL, 360 has more framerate problems.  I bet that's just Hilary's fanboyness, too, huh?

Also, Hilary in the review says that Rockstar is pushing both consoles to their limit or some such nonsense, but Rockstar has said that they have most certainly *not* mastered Cell.  PS3 will blow further by 360 as companies get closer to doing so.

Also, edge to PS3 in load times due to the hard drive.  Why don't you go clock both versions and come back here and tell us if Hilary was being a fanboy, or if the *IGN REVIEW* didn't in fact have a reason to say that the PS3 version had the edge?
