Forums - Gaming - piracy will kill 360 sales of gta iv?

Good thing you can't pirate a blu ray....yet!

And, does anyone know if the only reason that they can monitor is because the game isn't out yet? What about after the 28th? How will they know who pirated the game then?

It's not so much the game. Microsoft can detect Xbox 360's with a modded chip. Anyone wishing to go online with one of those Xbox's risk's a ban.

Won´t affect sales and if it does it might help sell more just as it could make it sell less.

Now the world is weird  and people take Prozac  to make it normal.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

It's probably because of achievements and the gamerscore, they can probably take notice that Mr. John is getting achievements from GTAIV when he shouldn't be.

No idea about what they'd do when the game comes out though. PC game keys are coming to consoles??! Expect console key-gens to follow!

here in lebanon,, Xbox owners will not pay for the original copy due to the pirated more affordable copy (7 $), and nobody gives a shit if u can play online or download stuff,,,, on the other side the ps3 one (original) will sell a lot, and this series is huge in my country, huge to the extent that it's going to ship at the same day as the rest of world (a first for lebanon)

I highly doubt this will effect sales of the game.

No. Most GTAIV players will be casual players (Madden style casuals, Wii style casuals) and they typically are not as technically proficient as more hardcore or PC gamers.

This.  GTAIV sales won't be hurt at all.

Ι had my pirated copy 2 days ago, and I played it in my arcade console. I'll buy the game first day as i always do. For me, pirated copies work as a longer demo. I already own 50 original games. Many people won't buy the original. But many of those will like the idea of online play and DLC. So, in some cases, the leak could work as an advertisement. Ah... Complicated stuff. Nevermind. I've played 3 hours, I'll play it again, this time with my original copy, on my Elite. See you on live!

For ease, I call them "Fratboy casuals."

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Well, there's a new hack, I believe it's called " iExtrem 2" . You can go online with no problems.
