I think you and I may have a different definition as to what “console warring” is— I’m talking about discourse which isn’t substantive and is driven by people who’s goal is to simply tear down one system over another in a manner which is not of good faith. So, not something like “Switch 2 is struggling when it comes to exclusives,” but more along the lines of “PlayStation 5 is nothing but a collection of asset-reusing sequels and GaaS slop.”

Yes, but it's no worse than other places. The internet is a magnet for people with dark triad traits, so it's always going to be a problem. If you give people online the same respect that you give people in the real world, you're going to run into problems because you are in the vast minority. It's simply not a place for kind-hearted people.

There's occasional nonsense but it's rare enough nowadays on here to not really matter. If anything a couple or handful of users every so often getting into a bit of mudslinging with each other can be entertaining as long as it doesn't go overboard. It adds some character basically and things are tame enough that moderations are rarely needed so it's in a fine enough state I'd say.

The discussions here remain civil with a few exceptional threads. Console warring/concern trolling is mostly on Era, Reddit, InstallBase. But to be fair those sites also have a lot more traffic than VGChartz.

For the most part, it's okay.

There are still a few gimmick accounts that exist solely to troll/console war, and they hardly ever seem to get moderated, despite the fact it's blatantly obvious they're only here to be toxic and cause trouble.

Compared to what it used to be, it’s like level 9 out of 100. There’s not much of a console war happening in the industry right now, so not much point in having one here.

I do want the Switch to pass the PS2 though so I can make some popcorn and enjoy some good reading.

Its even more funny that some of them show up in this thread to cry about people being offensive and calling others by names when everybody here know they have no decency to assume their mischeavous atitudes in many threads.
