Forums - Nintendo - Pokémon Presents 2026 - 10th gen Pokémon Winds and Waves announced for 2027

Tagged games:

This year Pokémon Presents celebrates the franchise 30th anniversary, and we are very likely to have Pokémon's 10th gen mainline games being announced there, supposedly called Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves.

I'm quite excited to see it, can't believe we are about to have now 10 generations.

When I see the livestream links are up, I'll add them here.

They've also posted this small video to celebrate the starters and box legendaries to showcase their new 30th anniversary logo and it's really nice small thing.

Hoping, praying we're pleasantly surprised. I'm all for a smaller pokedex in order to get high equality animations and world simulation.

This should also be the first ground up title from Nintendo that was really built from the ground up for the Switch 2 and really makes use of the extra power. (Although this is game freak so maybe I should calm down lol)

SO excited for this. I hope we get to see the starters pokémon, legendaries and more from Gen X. I didn't like the advertising for Gens VIII and IX. Too much quiet. I'd rather have something like Gen VII's one, where they would announce new stuff every week or so. I also hope the new region is more lively than Paldea, with interesting this to do and see on the map. I really miss the feel of the first 5 regions

Vai, Bralod.
We are both here since 2014 and didn't know you're a pokémon fan.
Will they tease the 10th Gen?

I'm not expecting an AAA looking game, but based on how the Switch 2 runs 9th gen games I believe they have enough room to improve it decently, if they will care about it tho... lol.

Also, I expect a bigger Pokémon, 400 was once 1/2 of the Pokémon, now it's closer to being 1/3, so I would hope for around 600 pokémons in the base game pokédex before DLCs, but I 100% don't expect it at all.

I think we should see quite a few new Pokémon, around 25 would be nice, and the legendaries and starters should be a given, those are the face of every new gen.

Ooh I’m excited! Not getting my hopes up… but man I really want to be able to say that I’m actually excited to pick up a Pokémon game at launch again. BDSP was the last one I purchased day one— skipped every game since.

I think they'll properly showcase it, with gameplay reveal and many new pokémons being shows during it.

Pokémon was once my favorite franchise ever, the Pokémon Fever happened when I was a boy, I was all over it.

In fact, I used to play Pokémon Crystal so much when my family travaled back to my birth city for the holidays, a younger cousin would spend long hours playing on my GBA with me until he got a GBA SP, and all we would ever chat was about Pokémon, he came to visit during the Carnaval and he always tell me I'm the reason he got into it, and he can't (doesn't want to) escape anymore lol.

Scarlet and Violet is actually great, the problem was the shameless performance it had on Switch.

If you have a Switch 2 that is fixed and I would 100% recommend it.
