Forums - Sales Discussion - Nintendo Million-Seller Titles Update (March 2008)

@OkeyDokey: Remember, Financial Reports are shipped to retailers, not sold to cusotomers.

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

1 word: RTFA

Yeah, but this is for March.

Anyways, looks like Vgchartz did a fantastic job. No surprise, though.

So VGC overtracked about 6 Wii titles, then.

Super Paper Mario and Metroid Prime 3 certainly aren't in a state of near sell-out, so they should probably be lowered about 100K. BBA should be lowered about the same.

SMG and MP8 are a little worse, since they should have more on shelves than the above 3 given their sales rate, and are overtracked by about 100K vs. shipments. That isn't so bad seeing MP8 shipped 500K and SMG 900K since the last reporting period.

The only one that's really bad is Zelda, since it's been out for so long. It has only shipped 220K units since the end of Dec 2007, but VGC had it going up about 500K in sales. In reality, I think it was overtracked at the last reporting period too.

However the DS tracking is universally impressive!

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

It's very good to know the numbers are close.

thanks for putting the charts up

Impressive work by ioi and his team. Keep up the good work, and thanks for making it available. And thanks to Seneque for posting the comparison on behalf of all of us who are too lazy.

Yeah, really good work, the numbers are really close
