Lowest month since November 1995 is shocking, not going to lie, that paints a picture of an industry in a lot of trouble.
I think effectively what's happening is anyone who is not in a wealthy household is effectively in a recession in the US. The "real" economy for most people is not good, "average joe consumer" is getting destroyed by inflation that has come in since COVID.
Nintendo also needs to stop being so freaking secretive about every aspect of the Switch 2, it feels like we get no information on the platform even though it's released, lol. Like why not Nintendo Direct's and all that stuff, you can go overboard with the secrecy. An extremely niche game like Kirby's Air Ride being the big November release was also far from ideal.
The other problem is it's going to be hard to drop hardware prices because component prices are going up and then you have Trump Tarriffs on top of that.
I don't think PS6 is coming out any time soon either, that will probably be $600-$700 minimum.
