I’ll leave this here. With the Companion Cube variant of Steam Machine releasing early 2026, it appears that the stars are aligning.

I LOVE the portal games... so I'm kinda hoping we really do get a Portal 3.

Sure, once Portal fans have waited almost 20yrs for the continuation of the story like us HL fans 😂. Get in line.

Or a VR title "Portal Chell" for Steam Frame.

Since Valve are famously unable to count to three, I wouldn't hold my breath. That said, I'd take Half-Life 3 over any other number 3 on earth. People waiting for TeS and GTA releases are noobs compared to those of us who still to cling to the dream that is HL3.

They were good and fun but also tech showcases for hardware at the time. A gaming culture that has long passed. Not sure it makes much sense or would get much traction these days if it did the same thing as the first 2. Plenty of modern games have done similar things or stuff like Drift Apart do something more impressive. Maybe if it was VR and did something other games have not done yet.

I'm very sure the next Half Life is being announced in the next three months.

If they did a blowout, like with the hardware, and announced new portal/l4d/TF at same time that would be crazy, but extremely unlikely. Half Life is the only one that's being heavily rumoured right now.

Its gonna be Half-Life 3 which I dont really have much interest in.

Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3 would be amazing but I cant see either coming before Half-Life 3 ;(

Half-life 3 releasing next year would be really exciting but living up to expectations is gonna be difficult to put it lightly. If it's not at least a 9/10 game then tons of people will be disappointed and even then there would still be some disappointment unless it's a 10/10 masterpiece.
