Which game will sell most LTD?

Wii Sports 9 37.50%

MarioKart 8 Deluxe (NS1 alone) 2 8.33%

If not MK8Deluxe, then Ma... 10 41.67%

MarioKart World 3 12.50%

Total:24

Wii Sports (82.79mil) versus MarioKart 8 Deluxe (69.56mil) versus a trailblazing MarioKart World (~95% attach rate).

With the latest fiscal report revealing MK8Deluxe having sold nearly 1mil during Q2FY26 (outpacing hardware sales for NS1), the question must be asked: Which game will take the crown?

I would be surprised if MK8D can do another 13m now that world is out.

Wii Sports will win, hard to beat a game that was packed in with every Wii sold in the west.

I assumed this was about the better game so i voted MKD obviously. But yeah, sales-wise MKD has pretty much peaked, with MHW out its numbers are not gonna move much forward.

I’m editing the poll so as to make it a little more interesting: choices now include MarioKart 8 on Wii U & NS1 combined. This option should certainly be a very close one, especially given how NS1 sales are moving 1-to-1 with MK8Deluxe at this point.

World isn't surpassing MK8DX, and even with MK8 often defying expectations, I don't see another 13 million in the tank. Wii Sports will stay on top thanks to the bundles in many territories.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

The battle of the pack-in's. I suppose it'll depend on which console sells more.

I'd like to see a list of the highest Nintendo-developed, non-pack-in games. I wonder what would be on there. I bet BOTW would be at the top, if not the top.

If we include the Wii U version of MK8, then it only needs to move another 4.77m, that seems doable.

If we don't include multiple SKUs though, Wii Sports will keep the throne.

Depends on how long the MK World bundle is kept on the shelves. If it is through the NSW2 lifetime (especially when being a free upgrade later on its life), I can see it beat Wii Sports. Otherwise MK8 & MK8 Deluxe combined will take the crown.

The jury's still out on the legs of MKW. MK8DX will certainly also find a lot of fans that didn't have a Switch before, so I expect that game to keep selling right through the Switch 2 era, though obviously at a slower pace than MKW. This should be enough to beat Wii Sports in the long run, even if it will take a while.

MarioKart 8 Deluxe wasn’t a pack in…? It had a bundle every holiday that sold quite well — as do almost all major 1st party Nintendo releases (including BotW and TotK) — but certainly not a pack-in especially outside of the holiday season.
