Surprised there wasn't a related thread, but after 25 years since the launch of the PS2, what's the 10 best games on the system? I'm personally using 1 game per franchise, but feel free to name any games even if there's multiple from the same franchise.

I loved the system and still have pretty much most of my collection. What I would give to have some of these franchises back.

4) SOCOM II U.S. Navy Seals

5) Twisted Metal: Black

You don't like RPGs you don't have Final Fantasy x or Dragon Quest VIII. I like Ace combat 4 but i feel 5 improved a lot over it so i would have chosen 5 as the PS2 plane game.

I’ve never been into JRPGs. Don’t know what it is, but they’ve never appealed to me. Longest I’ve lasted was Kingdom Hearts, and I think I got around halfway through before I stopped. But that’s going on a 20 year memory. During that generation I was playing a lot of WRPGs like Fable, Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, Fallout 2, Star Wars KOTOR, Icewind Dale, Diablo II, Baldur’s Gate, etc.

I actually wasn’t able to get around to playing Ace 5 lol. If I’m able to pick up a copy for cheap, I’ll have to check it out.

Had both Ace Combat 4 and 5 and enjoyed 4 a lot more, but the generational wow factor is partly responsible for that. AC4 looked incredible at the time. One of the reasons 2001 remains unbeaten to me.
