PS5. I'm surprised to see Switch 2 leading in the poll by a huge margin. I thought resident evil games would be more popular on PlayStation or PC

This forum is dominated by Nintendo fans

Wouldn't go that far, they have the largest share of the 4 major platforms, but not to the extent of "dominating", polls we've run on this over the years show there's not that much fewer PS fans.

PS5 is my all purpose system and the only way to play for me. But I'm not gonna buy scary games.

But your name is Dante.

Well anyway, I'll be getting the PlayStation 5 version. While I definitely like the portability of the Switch 2, Resident Evil Requiem is clearly meant to be a high-end, AAA experience and I intend to experience it that way. Going with the Switch 2 version of a game like this to me is kinda like the proposition of catching the year's biggest, most explosive blockbuster action motion picture at home in streaming form instead of at the theater, on the big screen. I'm not settling. I shall experience it the way it's really meant to be experienced.

Most of them are lurkers. The active userbase is skewed toward Nintendo fans

There's more Nintendo fans than any other platform, but not to the extent that the forum is "dominated" by them.

One reason it can seem like it atm is cos Switch 2 just came out so a lot of Ninty players are more active than usual, which is also why in this poll Switch 2 has so many votes, people who just dropped $450 on a new console are keen to see what it can do.

i will buy it for Switch 2.
I want to play portable , because last time i bought Silent Hill f for PS5, i got so scared, i couldnt continue playing, i think i will restart in new easy mode

I don't know man.  I mean I see your point, but I think the forum is very heavy Nintendo, the exact verbiage to leverage is debatable.

Maybe I have become the odd man out, if but I don't see why so many people would spend the same amount of money for a game that is lower resolution, reduced lighting/shadows, half the fps and with fizzy hair because new toy.  It doesn't make sense in my mind, unless of course said people are just really big Nintendo fans, which is fine.  Of course, people who travel a lot, yeah the S2 offers a massive advantage.

I've been a multi console owner since I was a kid (snes/genesis, ps2/gc/xbox, etc); my default over the years was always "get the best version, because it is the best version."

I'm using here since 2020 I think, but started lurking in 2016 I believe, so 10 years

I don't believe this is related to Switch 2. It was Xbox and Sony fanbases that pretty much disbanded here leaving more Nintendo fans, so most of active userbase discussing stuff are Nintendo fans

If I'd cluster the users here it would be

1. Nintendo fans

2. System agnostics (I'd say in numbers they are about as equal as Nintendo fans, but they post less)

3. Playstation fans

4. Xbox fans (those are a really small minority)

I'd include PC gamers as well, but in this board most PC gamers also play in consoles so they are system agnostics. It's different from other boards where PC gamers are almost a sub culture entirely separated from consoles

When I eventually get it, it will be for Xbox, by then I expect it to be Play Anywhere so could play it on any media

On a larger scale, the game will sell more on PS5, for various reasons such as a larger install base, more of the RE fanbase being on PS, being the graphically superior version, etc.

VGChartz is a very niche forum, so the results here won't reflect the broader world.

That said, portability is a significant selling point for some folks, as is wanting to use the shiny new console, so I think it'll so okay on Switch 2.

The site is also good for Video Game News. It is my main site for new games releasing information.
