I was interested until I saw they decided to change the protagonist.

What's wrong with them changing protagonists? I thought Jin's story wrapped up nicely in the first game.

Yeah that's what I thought too. Not to mention, the game takes place centuries later lol. Jin would kinda be dead at that point. Just my guess though

Some don't like playing as women but if they have to they want jiggle physics and instagram gilter beauty so they can play with their barbie dolls. Foolish people. I'm all for good looking people in games, I enjoy Geralt and now Ciri looking like peak humanity but my God, if the reason you biy a game is for something you'll never take notice of 95% of the time is so stupid and it's not like GoY will have Kojima level cutscene content, probably 5 - 7 hours out of of 50+.

Okay. I'm about to dive into reviews and vet the game before I buy it, make sure these writers didn't pull a DA Veilgaurd which is my biggest fear.

Some people just don't like it, me being one. When I play a Mario game, I want to play as Mario. When I play a Metal Gear Solid game, I want either Snake, or some sort of clone of Snake (I was one of the angry people on the internet way back when after Kojima did the infamous bait and switch with MGS2). When I play Sly Cooper, I was to play as Sly Cooper etc.

Some don't like playing as women..

I loved Resident Evil 1-CV, and half the time I was playing as a woman. I liked Heavenly Sword. I have no issues with Tomb Raider. But when it comes to this game, this is a complete switch. And honestly, given the company and who they got to voice the protagonist, it sort of smells a little bit forced... like it's a holder over from the woke-era. Could be wrong about that, but yeah. Really... really smells like it. And if that's the case, it could be a man, woman, gay, straight, trans, alien... I'm not going to buy it. I don't want identity politics in my games. Politics, okay. Not identity politics. I've been bludgeoned over the head for the last decade with that. I'm burned out.

Oh agreed. I'm extremely burned out too but from both the woke and the anitwoke. I'm vetting it now for Identity politics in the writing.

You shouldn't give up on it though, if you can play as an unattractive woman (even though all the games you mentioned have attractive women, Nariko was extremely hot bavk in the day) you could still enjoy this game. Don't get sucked into the grifters hate campaigns, research yourself. You could miss out on so many great games cause of this, like some people were saying Clair Obscur is woke trash.

Good advice and thanks, I'll take it into consideration!

This is a bizarre motive to not buy something.

I couldn't care less if a game has a different protagonist if it's a good, and everything seems to indicate Ghost of Yotei is a good game.

What identity politics? What are you talking about?

She's just an asian actress that auditioned for a role and got it. Or is the protagonist of the game a member of the LGBTQIA+ community like her?

Sucker Punch wanted to do a game with a different protagonist because like I said, Jin's story was over in first game.

Okay. I can't find any examples of dialogue which is concerning and I wonder if that was in the NDA. The reviews giving it 10's are sus apart from Game Rant, not sure I can trust the main stream on this one. They skipped my three go to reviewers, the ones that can topple a game, Skill Up, Before You buy and Luke Stevens which makes me loose some confidence, cause they can't be bought or given incentives under the table like selling ads for higher scores. ACG may want to keep those codes coming in and codes for giving away.

Like Jack Handy said above this one smells. I'm gonna wait for release day, watch a let's player for a few missions and make my decision then. I can wait two or three days.

I've finished vetting, your first comment may be true, the NDA seems to not allow V roll of dialogue and skipping the most fair and integral influencers . It smells .
