I've seen retrospectives of the game a while back. And I've yet to wet my feet into the survival horror genre more often. I think this one would do a fine addition to my collection ....

If it's on a full cartridge, I mean c'mon Nintendo has to be the Switch 2 publisher worldwide right ?

I would highly recommend this one, as someone who played the Wii version. It's a fantastic game, provided you're okay with old school design like a slow burn approach to pacing, your character being a small scared kid with limited mobility instead of a hyper capable hero, etc.

No word yet on who the publisher is; Nintendo published the 2012 remake this is based on, but given this is multiplat, Tecmo Koei could be publishing this time, as they did for Fatal Frame 4 and 5 when they got remastered a couple years back.

I had Fatal Frame 1 and 2 on the PS2. I barely played either one, but I sat and watched my brother playing the 2nd and getting close to the end. As with many games at the time, we often dropped them and got distracted between school and other video games. We played hundreds of games that generation and couldn't finish most.

It had a memorable atmosphere and a sense of foreboding.

Fatal Frame II is still my favorite in the series so I'm excited and will pick this up.

I love that they're doing a remake rather than a remaster. The graphics looks a little last gen but it wont stop me from enjoying this.

The game is releasing on Switch 2, so the graphics are probably built with that system in mind. Tecmo Koei also are more of an AA publisher, so their games don't push high end graphics tech.

The game will release on March 12th, new trailer:

Oh look, another 2025 game that I already played a billion years ago! Yay for innovation!

To add to that this Fatal Frame 2 Remake Nintendo doesn't co-own unlike the Wii Remake, 4 and 5 (they even co-own the remasters). So I highly doubt they'll be publishing the Switch 2 version.

The best games comming out these years are all older games from mostly 6th gen, xs
