Forums - Nintendo - Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is out now on Switch 1 and 2

Beyond the bike discussion, having them actually opening the scope of some areas with open fields in likely in-between the actual levels is a break up of the franchise formula that is welcomed considering the previous discourse where people criticized the previous trailer to be too "Metroid Prime like".

Here you go, enjoy the experimentation going here.

Yeah I kinda like that they're trying something different in that respect to. If done right, it could add a lot of the mood of the world, like in games like Shadow of the Colossus or Nier Automata.

I just want this to be good. It's been 18 years since Prime 3 ended with a cliffhanger. I have dreamed with Prime 4 ever since. Please be good, please be good, please be good...

I feel ya man. As someone who loved the first three Prime games it's been a long arse wait. I was 18 when Prime 3 came out, and I'll be nearly 37 when Prime 4 hits.

I am acutely aware of this causing unrealistic expectations and subsequent disappointment, so I am strictly going in with the mindset that as long as it's good, then that's enough.

Any news on the 120 fps mode? I was always skeptical the S2 was going to pull off actual 120 fps.

Performance mode (120fps) was confirmed when they announced the Switch 2 version back in April and they have shown gameplay of it. Performance mode will be 1080p/120FPS while docked, 720p/120FPS on handheld.

The bike looks cool but i got a bad feeling while they were showing (Other M)... let's hope not.
They should add a multiplayer/co op to the game, I believe it would boost sales.

That motorcycle mechanic is gonna be fun.

I mean 120fps is demanding, but this is ultimately a Switch 1 game, so it shouldn't be that hard for hardware several times stronger to run at double the framerate.

We already have say Ys Nordics hitting 120fps on Switch 2, which was 30fps on Switch 1.
