Sure, doesn't revolve around the US... but according to VG, 37% of ps5 sales are NA. Pretty damn big market. Â

The point is they can't and won't stop production in China and Vietnam for Playstations sold in the 100 other markets globally.
So all you're going to end up with even IF they made a special factory for the Trump term in the US would be a factory that is more expensive than their production from China and Vietnam. So the US consumer is instead of paying a tarrif, still paying the highest price due to production/factory costs.
And once Trump's term is over, you think they're going to keep running that US factory? No. They going to shut that shit down faster than you can say Taco and shift all PS6 production (in this hypothetical) 100% back to China and Vietnam where they can make it cheaper the first chance they get. Ain't no one in the US working a factory shift for 1/2 - 1/3 the pay they get working at a McDonalds and no one is willing to do 12-16 hour shifts, 6-7 days a week like they do in Asia either.

Nvidia revealed plans to manufacture AI supercomputers and chips in the U.S. for the first time. The company has commissioned more than 1 million square feet of factory space in Texas and Arizona. The new facilities will support Nvidia’s Blackwell chip production and supercomputer assembly, with partnerships including Foxconn and Wistron.
If Nvidia proceeds, which is an if, no I don't think they walk away in 3 years. Same with Apple's reported $500,000,000,000 investment.... and TSMC, J&J, Merck, Eli, GE, Hyundai, Chobani, Honda..... if they do invest trillions... we will have to wait and see. I am not ready to call tariffs a terrible idea if these investments happen.
Point being I think both sides are already making conclusions... when the data hasn't even been remotely finalized. My position is, I am curious to see how this plays out.
As for the part in bold, I personally support paying more for goods, if it means US jobs. Fact is the US is a crossroad. Cheap products + US jobs is a paradox, it doesn't exist. We either will have US jobs + more expensive goods or foreign MFG and cheap products. I think the former is better for the country.
