Also Apple "moved" US iPhone production to .... India ... not the US, lol.

That's the whole other problem too ... the world doesn't revolve around the US. If you're Sony you sell Playstations in Japan, Germany, UK, France, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, and like 50 other non-US markets.

You're not going to manufacture those Playstations anywhere but where its cheapest -- so they remain entrenched in China and Vietnam no matter what. They not selling a freaking PS5 made for 20-30% more in Milwaukee or some shit to consumers in Japan.

So what's going to happen is President 79-Years-Old will grow increasingly senile in the next 2-3 years, even if they built a token PR factory in the US, what you'll be left with is a factory where it's way more expensive to make Playstations than that factories they'll maintain in China and Vietnam for the rest of the world. So as soon as Trump is rendered politically useless (which could be as soon as the mid-term elections which are like 18 months out), first order of business for a lot of companies that even make these PR factories is going to be shift production back to the cheaper-to-produce factories in China and Vietnam and India and Mexico the first chance they get.

Sure, doesn't revolve around the US...  but according to VG, 37% of ps5 sales are NA.  Pretty damn big market.

The point is they can't and won't stop production in China and Vietnam for Playstations sold in the 100 other markets globally.

So all you're going to end up with even IF they made a special factory for the Trump term in the US would be a factory that is more expensive than their production from China and Vietnam. So the US consumer is instead of paying a tarrif, still paying the highest price due to production/factory costs.

And once Trump's term is over, you think they're going to keep running that US factory? No. They going to shut that shit down faster than you can say Taco and shift all PS6 production (in this hypothetical) 100% back to China and Vietnam where they can make it cheaper the first chance they get. Ain't no one in the US working a factory shift for 1/2 - 1/3 the pay they get working at a McDonalds and no one is willing to do 12-16 hour shifts, 6-7 days a week like they do in Asia either.
