Trump admin will get token concessions from a handful of PR opportunities with companies like Apple and TSMC who are "making investments in America", but those will be for only a few products, the bulk of things that have been made in China or Vietnam or somewhere else, those companies are going to do the same as what Sony has done and what MS did with XBox and what Nintendo is doing with Switch 1 ... pass the cost increase onto consumers.
Home Depot, Walmart, Amazon, and several other retailers are already saying prices are going up. And even in Apple's case ... these companies are playing the long game. They can easily bail out of a promised factory production or some such in 3 years when Trump's days are numbered.
And even if a few token things are "made in Murica!" that just moves off the tariff cost off, it doesn't change the fact that production costs significantly more here (and cost of building those factories also has to be reimbursed too). Take a wild guess who's paying more for that ... it isn't going to be the company. Either way, the consumer is the one most likely to get fucked.
