From my last look, 3 members already got 160 (10/12) so this all but confirms:

1. The Achievements are much easier than GeoWars 1. The 2 hardest Achievements are Game Over and Smile. 5 ppl in the world have already reached 200/200 on the launch day.

2. I will have to shorten the Race length to at least 2 weeks.

Do you guys think 1 week is a bit much and unfair to others who may not have the chance yet to get it?

For the upcoming XBLA games, it looks like the longest that the Race period will ever be is 2 weeks, and this makes sense since its 200 G.

As for SC4, I think about 5-6 members have already started. A competitive Race, this SC4 will be. :)

@Machina

In regards to your advice thanks. Actually Post #3 is where I update the Race leaderboards, because I thought putting it in Post #1 would make it too long. Do you think its nicer in Post #1 but maybe just the top 6 for each Race?

Your Halo 3 co-op idea is great and I will definitely look you up when I get Gold membership soon.

@sublime

Glad to know youre 360 is on the way back.

I think 1 week is plenty for XBLA titles. Anybody that isn't going to buy the game the first week probably isn't going to place top three in the race anyways. That's just my thoughts. By tomorrow or Firday, someone I'm sure will 200/200 Geometry Wars 2.

Also Eagle PM me the details if you want me to do the Platinum list tomorrow.

 Well it seems if they are really skilled at the game, someone can get 200/200 in one sitting.

Thats why 2 weeks sounds better to me. If its one week, then im penalising members who just didnt know about it yet or are on holiday or have no time to play it on launch week.

But, one week is also good because it seems it will be too easy to get 10 points. Maybe less points for XBLA games?

Sigh.

I don't mind having it at two weeks. I just have a feeling our top three placers in the race will all be first day or second day adopters and all three will likely finish with 200 Gamerscore.

As far as points go, I agree it should be lowered. There's hardly the same amount of effort going into an XBLA game as opposed to a retail game. I say we cut the amount in half. Does anyone else think this is fair?

@Machina

Hehe. Dont really wanna start giving points in 0.5! :)

I was thinking more like top six 6,5,4,3,2,1 or just top three 5,4,3 since its now a much shorter Race period as well, which makes the challenge harder.

Let us remember that these Achievements are still not 'whore' points. I think its just because we have some good players as members and its still a great achievement to come first in GeoWars 2.

I will look into adding a short word about the list of to be added Plat games.

I agree cutting it down on points and time for arcade games. Top 3 or 4 score only would also balance it out. The arcades games more than retail games seem to vary a lot in difficulty of achievements. You get games that are really hard (GeoWars1) to easy ones (Pacman:CE, Doom, PoP, etc). Retail games seem to be more time committed than anything.

I do like the idea of multiple races though, with the league growing so well it gives people a chance to compete in a race if they are not interested in the retail game up.

yeah ignore that post (again -_^). I misread the OP as being 6,5,4,3,2,1 for races and 10,7,5,3,2,1 for GS.

6,5,4,3,2,1 for XBLA races is a good idea ^^

Just to avoid confusion, my votes go for:

1 week Geo Wars 2 race.
1-2 weeks for other XBLA races depending on difficulty rating.
6,5,4,3,2,1 points for XBLA races.
Everything else to stay the same.

I concur.

I would but no gold.

ah I forgot, nevermind then.

Just finished with Geo Wars 2 for today on 130/200. Can't see myself getting much more than that though because of the ones left I can only see myself managing to do one of them. Some thoughts on my remaining achievements:

- Game Over - probably one that I have a good shot at getting but it'll take a while to learn what to do on each map.

- Smile - not a chance. Not even going to try and get it. I will struggle to get Game Over, let alone be able to make that smile pattern.

- Treaty - 50/50 really. The closest I came today was 28 but after ~25 circles you seem to be really dependant on the circles forming in close proximity or you get swallowed up.

- Wax Off - also not a chance. Haven't got anywhere near it yet. I can do Wax On quite easily but after that the map is just too crowded for me to do anything.

If anyone here has done any of them and has any tips, do feel free to share :P

Important tip about Game Over since I just got it:  All you need to do is get to the last level with 2 LIVES.  As soon as you die the achievement pops up.

Treaty's pretty easy, the first 22 or so you just go in any circle for a half second and go to the next one.  The change in strategy comes when you get to the 22-25 range.  What you do is you go inside the ring and stay for a split second longer so that the blue things hit against ring then you circle to the next one.  This allows you an extra moment longer.  Try to circle to the next ring, don't go in a straight line.

Completed XBLA: 16 / 32
Completed Retail: 17 / 64
GS Completion %: 82.63%

Doubt it, there always has to be one asshole achievement I can't get.

I agree with this except I think all XBLA games should be 2 Weeks. If we keep changing depending on how good people are at the gamer then it will start to confuse some people. I got the game last night and I was lucky I had enough points left. Some people may have to wait until they get payed.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Soul Calibur IV already has it's first DLC. Some equipment from the prequels for 100 MS points.
