Its Nintendo, our expectations tend to go up for them more than anyone else.

After the announcement of the Switch 1 increase in the US, imports were expected to increase SW1 numbers.

Can't be sure that is what is happening - maybe just a down week, maybe it's just Japan, maybe it's temporary lack of supply, maybe it'll just be somewhat slow until Pokemon, or maybe we're gonna see the outrage at Nintendo entirely abandoning affordable gaming was the real deal and day 1 buyers simply tried to downplay it during launch month hype. |
The price is not "crazy high" nor unaffordable.

A lot of people really want to see Nintendo fail.

I didn't get it. How the increase of Switch 1's price in the US can increase Switch's numbers in Japan?

Highly unlikely that a significant number of Americans are importing a Switch 1 from the other side of the world in the system's 9th year.

I don't understand the talk about weak legs. Switch 2 weekly sales in Japan are only about stock availability. More stock, bigger sales for the week.
Hard to trust Famitsu's Switch 2 weekly numbers right now when they've been off by so much over the course of only the first four weeks.
Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

Yeah until now you could basically blindly trust them while keeping in mind that they weren't tracking 10-15% of Switch sales but with this that trust has been damaged. It could very well be a one-off but best to take their numbers with a pinch of salt till the next quarter report shows if they've gotten back on track or not.
