What do you consider the best PC game that is not available on consoles, and what makes it the best?

I don't know about the best but these are my favorites:

- Thief The Dark Project (1998) - first person sneaker

- Heroes of Might & Magic II (1996) - turn based strategy

- Commandos Behind Enemy Lines (1998) - real time strategy/action

- Carmageddon (1997) - racing/mayhem

- Viper Racing (1998) - racing sim

- Unreal (1998) - FPS

Damn I didn't realize they are all from 1996 to 1998.

All my favourite PC series/genres have jumped to being multiplatform in the last few years. Age of Empires, Civilization, Planet Coaster/Zoo, Sims, Stellaris, Cities Skylines.

I can't even think of a modern game I've played that isn't on console as well. Older games though: Unreal Tournament 2003, Freelancer, Empire Earth, Empires DotMW.

I really wish shooters like UT03 would make a comeback, instead of everyone chasing the hero-shooter/extraction-shooter/battle royale trains.

Might and Magic series, Dune 2, Dungeon Keeper, Transport Tycoon, Master of Orion 2, Alpha Centauri, Everquest, WoW.

Everquest is my favorite, 5 years of great memories, met my wife to be (just had 21 year anniversary) and a new country.

Warcraft 3

Warcraft 3 by a mile for me! No other game like it or since. From the epic storytelling, the high fantasy setting, and each of the playable factions being so distinctly unique from each other, there's no other game like it.

Other notable ones for me would be Starcraft 2, Heroes of Might & Magic 3, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Unreal Tournament 2004, Empire Earth, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun, Total War: Warhammer 2, Tempest Rising (my current 2025 GOTY) Fallout 2, Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance, and Civilization 3 are the most immediate to come to mind. I know quite a few previously PC exclusive games have been remastered in recent years for consoles.
