I suppose moving to a country 10,000 km away on a whim.

Explain how it was a whim? If I recall correctly it's Japan right? The country and culture pulled you there and you answered the call, it's not crazy to go and be where you're soul wants to settle unless you have a wife and kids who you're leaving behind.

Nobody really knows what it is like until years later. Culture shock is constant. I am sure even by year 10,20,30 there will be some sort of culture shock.

I constantly relied on others to do things for me, and I was $50,000 in debt.

Suddenly moving with 0 support structure, and not securing a good job made it more of a whim.

Moving here did pay off, but even if I stayed I am sure it would have been fine too.

.

I woke up at 8am this morning, it was light outside!!

I almost handheld my SO once

Before marriage.

Oh well, yeah that definetly is on a whim 😀 I hope you at least escaped your debt.

Probably the only person in the world to ever do so.

While not the craziest, nor the stupidest thing I have ever done:

For a joke. It was winter some 30 or so years ago. I had friends in the car and pulled up and parked in front of a bank while leaving the car running. I donned a ski-mask and entered the bank. My friends could see me through the glass doors. I was only in the bank long enough to tell the cashiers "don't worry this is just a prank". I grabbed a pen from the kiosk (figured I may as well rob something while I was there) then turned and bolted out the doors. I hopped in the car and sped away. Not what one typically thinks of when they hear the term Bank Robber but now I can legally put it on my resume.

I still use PSP 4.12 shareware version

It still does everything I need and of course has all the legacy picture formats. The Order button doesn't work anymore (hasn't for decades lol) and the evaluation counter stopped working about 10 years ago. It starts instantly (just gives an error about not being able to update the registry), handles images up to 9999x9999, and is still much easier to use for printing than anything else I've tried...

I've user newer version through work but they were all just slower and more complicated to get the same things done.

WinRar is included in Total Commander 6.03a (also Shareware).

The two tools I always copy over to a new system :)

That is real dedication. I’d say this qualifies for this thread as well.
