... I don't get it? What do you mean?

364th most played game on Xbox. In other words. It's not doing all that well.

Not a huge surprise from a 2 year late port of a game that underperformed even on the much more popular PS5.

At this point they probably just wanna try to eek out every bit of sales they can from it to soften their losses.

Quickly going up the sales charts at least. The base game is currently at number 18.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

The sales aren't bad for a late port and being almost full priced.

That and it being a shadowdrop means people have to find out about it. The Xbox showcase didn't have a huge number of watchers this year, so there are going to be those that were slow at finding out the game was even available in the first place.

Shadowdrops for Game Pass can ideally work better than a shadowdrop for a nearly full priced game. But the $70 edition is ironically the better selling version.

Hopefully the game continues to climb the charts as more people find out about it.

Great to see! The game isn't perfect but it's still great and easily the most I enjoyed a new mainline FF since X.

Still I hope Square refine their internal understanding of what Final Fantasy and go back to strategic/team based routes and honestly try to evolve the turn base system.

Not bad. It usually takes several days for sales to be reflected in the top sellers list on Xbox. It also doesn't help that it was shadow dropped with barely any marketing to start. Marketing is better now, but it wasn't right away.

Idk what's going on, but that "most played" list some are mentioning......doesn't seem to be accurate. I'm seeing Outer Worlds 2 and Ninja Gaiden 4, 2 games that have not released yet, being listed as well lol.

If you filter by Xbox Series X/S, then FFXVI is currently number 10 of most played games.

Yeah I still enjoyed it myself. The pacing of the game I think is what threw me off the most. It would go from the super highs to super lows immediately after lol. I'm not a huge FF player at all, so I can't empathize with those that enjoy the older titles, but seeing how much of a far cry the gameplay was in this one compared to pretty much all previous entries, I can see why many disavowed it.

Still, talk about some EPIC moments!

Yeah, for me the highs are amongst the best in the series. Pacing was just very uneven and given how light the RPG mechanics are, the core story did not need to be more than 30hours. A good 10hours of the campaign feels like filler

I am 1/3 in (chapter wise) and can't really say I love it, it has been slow so far..
