To be fair, there also existed official Nintendo MK8 WiiU bundles. That’s how I bought my copy.

Playing with friends makes it a ton more fun. Also, have you tried for triple starring the gold trophies in the 150 cups. You start to realize just how precise you need to be. And 200 cc is insane. 

But there are plenty of games that aren’t for everyone. I was never a fan of MK until MK8, and then it clicked. 

I love the 200CC. Tripple starring the 200CC cups was the real challenge

I don't even think Animal Crossing with its explosion with New Horizons could dethrone Mario Kart in the long-run.

New Horizons was bolstered by COVID-19. Without that, it would probably have sold 10 million units less than it has so far.
