Forums - Nintendo - For those getting a Switch 2, what sold you on the system?

If you've decided you're definitely buying a Switch 2, what was it specifically that tipped you over the edge into "I need to have this console" territory?

Was it a certain game you don't want to miss out on, a feature, something else?

Backwards compatibility.
That new Nintendo smell.
It’s time.

I guess I don’t really need a reason, just like so many console diehards. It’s the place where I’ll be playing all of my games for the next 6-10 years so I see no point in waiting.

Mario Kart World, as I have been craving a new MK for about 10 years.

Also, that smooth and slick console design. It's really a gorgeous thing.

The games. DK and MKW were enough to to sell me on the console.

Nintendo Switch. If next gen is anywhere near as good as current gen, I’m a very happy consumer. It was a day one purchase before reveal.

I could list a lot of reasons, including Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bonanza, backward compatibility, GCN emulation, or the fact that it’s the successor to what is, arguably, the best system ever made.

But, truthfully, I want it because it’s a new system produced by Nintendo. That’s it. I want to continue to experience the same magic that’s defined my gaming life for the past four decades.

Yeah, the Switch sold me on the Switch 2.
