Forums - Sales - New Pokémon numbers: Over 489 million games shipped, over 75 billion cards produced

New figures from The Pokémon Company reveal that the company has, to date, shipped more than 489 million copies of Pokémon games, and produced a staggering over 75 billion Pokémon cards.

That's 9 Pokémon cards for every human being alive in the world.

And I have the exactly amount of 0 (zero) cards.
That means theres someone out there with 18 cards. Lucky guy

There’s a typo in OP: 75 *billion* Pokémon cards. That's an insane statistic though.

Oh my ... The explosion of Pokemon TCG prolly accelerated that number tenfold since the Pokemon GO phenomenon.

Switch Friend Code : 3905-6122-2909

One of the best franchises.

Well deserved.

I'm on a anime binge right now - watching all the specials, ONAs, and OVAs I missed out before starting on Ash's final anime season - Pokemon The Journeys.

Gonna be hard to top Sun & Moon which so far is my favorite season.

Once I play through Mario Kart World - I'm gonna start on Pokemon Scarlet.

My most recent Pokemon game I played and finished was Pokemon Platinum which I finished late last year.

As the first Pokémon games, Red/Blue/Yellow, released 29 years ago in 1996, that's an average of 16.86 million games sold per year ever since.

489 million also puts it above the total sales of the Super Mario series.
