Does the Nintendo Switch 2 need GTA6?

Nah, it should be fine without that game, 74 93.67%

Yeah, it will be cooked without the game 5 6.33%

Total:79

VGChartz isn't a good place for this question. The answer is a resounding YES, but no-one on here is going to admit it and we can already see that from the first 10 replies. You raised an excellent point with the Wii-U, it would have helped it massively. GTA 6 is not a game that you can afford to have skip your system, and if your releasing a system in 2025 and GTA 6 can't run on it for technical reasons, you've launched a totally redundant system.

The Nintendo fans on here though are somewhat delusional because of the Switch 1's success that they think the Switch 2's success is also guaranteed. Thankfully we only have to wait until June 6 for them to come back down to earth.

We reap what we sow

Switch did fine with out GTAV.

No.
Switch could've had worse third-party support and still probably outsell PS4 and Game Boy/Game Boy Color. Third-party support helps Nintendo but is way overblown.
Wii U as a console and some of the first-party games failed to grip the market, with the lack of compelling third-party support as the added nail in the coffin.
Switch 2 could get no Rockstar titles in terms of ports and upcoming titles and that is not what would keep it from hitting over 100 million units.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

If they did, Nintendo would have an issue with internal storage, since that one lone game is far too big for carts, and there's only 256gb on board.

Switch 2 needs Nintendo games.

I know GTA6 is a big deal, but its not the savior of gaming.

I don't think anything could save the Wii U lol. Maybe if it had better hardware that made porting from PS4/XB1 easy... or if the gamepad wasn't a requirement... and if it didn't had severe software droughts trough most of its life... oh and drop the Wii U name while at it... the maybe it could be succesful.

...but if all of that happened it wouldn't be the Wii U.

Would it be great if GTA VI is on Switch 2? Of course, but the Switch 2 doesn't need GTA VI and GTA VI doesn't need the Switch 2.

Will easily be the biggest game of its gen... and possibly the following one.
