Affordable Space Adventures, one of the best local coop games on Wii U (best played with 2 players, one as pilot, other as engineer) that uses Gamepad's screen for all ship systems (if not played solo, that is in engineer's hands), while displaying game on TV - which means it would have to be locked to docked mode only on Switch.

I really enjoyed Starfox Zero, and contrary to what I usually hear, the problem of the game isn't the gyro controls, but the duo screen scheme... Playing with gyro was fun, being forced to look at the Gamepad to aim was not. I believe the game could redeem itself if it was ported to the Switch without the duo screen bs.

StarFox zero would literally have all it's biggest problems disappear if it was ported to Switch/Switch 2.
It's the Gyro control that ruined it.

If WWHD and TPHD aren't eligible then I'm good, the rest of those are shit, I personally like ZombiU, but it isn't a great game by any means, and I already own it on 3 different platforms.

Great pick, an underrated little game and a shame it had to be tethered to a failed console.

It was the forced dual screen setup that killed it for me, having to divide my attention between the two viewpoints was a constant hassle and made the whole game feel clunky.

I can't remember... But I may need to fire it up again, but I think if you played it on the tablet, the dual-viewpoints disappeared?

I just remember wanting to neck myself dealing with that terrible control scheme, whoever at Nintendo allowed that to pass Q&A need a stern talking to, because the game is otherwise great.

Yeah, ASA is such a fun, yet intense game, and one of the reasons why I have Wii U still hooked up to TV, other being Luigi's Ghost Mansion from Nintendo Land, which my wife loves, that has same dual-screen problem as ASA for converting it to Switch.

I was hoping for Switch 2 to introduce dual screen concept, to simulate what Wii U was capable of, but no such thing apparently. :/

Been like 9 years since I played it too, but as I recall the dual screen setup was mandatory, the whole game was built around it and I hated that.

It was a shame cos I also found it an otherwise fun little arcade shooter, spoiled by an annoying gimmick.

There’s not much worthwhile left that’s solely on WiiU, especially when discounting (which is fair) WW and TP. Of those I only ever played ZombiU, Nintendoland and Super Mario Maker. And I believe the demo of Yoshi bit I may remember it wrong. ZombiU sucked, Nintendoland was fun for a bit but in the end wasn’t much more than a very short mini-game collection. Mario Maker was good though, the only thing that made a case for the Gamepad. Maybe obsolete since Mario Maker 2, but still, the best game of these that weren’t ported to Switch.

Mario Maker was in my opinion the only reason to own a WiiU. The second game in the series are similar enough for to almost count as a port with added content. But the original had better controls.

Nintendo land is an interesting case as well. It looked (to me) unappealing but the people who actually got around to play it loved it. It made good use of the hardware. I feel like some years from now that will be the game people hold on to their WiiU for or try to get one.
