Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Switch 2 Physical Game List

I heard a rumor on the internet, that supposedly Nintendo make 8gb and 64gb cartridges.
And the 64gb ones are like ~8$.

So instead of spending like ~8$ on a cartridge that can hold the games, they give you a tiny gamekey code instead, to save like 8 bucks.
Just raise the price of the games by the cost of the cartridge, and give full games on physical buy. I think most would prefer that.

OR  if you want to sell the Switch 2 versions, at the same price as say xbox/playstation ones that use cheaper discs, then just eat the price difference. Surely that would be a better move, like.... how profit driven are these people, to not see that this will likely drastically effect sales of their games (physical buys).

At least we have stuff like Limited Run Games, Red Art Games, Super Rare Games etc...

Also Video Games Plus wants to approach publishers to get their full game on a cartridge, so I hope they are successful with that.

VGP being the hero for physical enjoyers in NA is really something I did not expect when they were mostly known for reprinting the Xenoblade games due to demand a few years back.

Hopefully they manage a good deal there. Was so glad when they ended up having the deal in Canada for the physical edition of Lunar Remastered that just released since there's no way I go through Amazon instead ...

But yes it goes to say, that we should update an official list on the thread for that matter.

Yet ... I'll likely end up buying the Key Card for No Sleep for Kaname Date cuz I just love the series too much to skip on only principle. But that's going to be the exception, not the rule of course.

Also all Sega releases not having an upgrade pack for their games also releasing on Switch 1 is just mindboggling ...

Are these compatible with other region switches?

Yes, supposedly. Although, I think there's no compatibility with a Japan only Switch 2 that isn't the multi-langage version. Needs to be tested however.

Any company that allows 3rd parties to put this level of DRM into their releases is crap. Steam is crap for allowing Denuvo. Nintendo is crap for allowing game-key-cards en masse. Switch 2 will mostly be a Nintendo 1st party and Indie machine for me. If there's no game on the cart it might as well not be on Switch 2 as far as I'm concerned. Same goes for PC games with Denuvo in them.

Also doesitplay.org will be sure to track game-key-card releases extensively. They call them physical-fraud.

Below is a list of "physical" games I could find on pre-order in Australia from a physical walk in shop.

I made the list to hopefully help others who are physical game collectors like me and shun the poor practices of some developers cutting costs to release sub standard physical games

Please feel free to add anything I missed and I will update the OP post.

So far there is 6 games I won't be buying, and perhaps go a step further and not even support those developers on any platform.

The 64GB cart is expensive and they probably dont expect their games to sell very well. Maybe in the future if the Switch 2 is very successful and Nintendo give Publishers more options, we will see more games on cart.

No chance. The Switch has sold how many consoles and they still doing code-in-a-box on the Switch. I reckon I have skipped at least 80 games I would have bought in the last 6 years if they did a proper job.

As for PS5 i have no idea how many i have skipped but haven't bought an EA, Capcom, Square Enix or Sega game since the Wii U days because of that bullshit.
