This makes me miss Comg!, would be nice to check the pre orders for NSW 2 games.

Nice Switch rebound after the April 2 Switch 2 event. I expect the PS5 baseline to fall below 10k/week after the new system arrives.

nice Switch Hold!

Switch!!!

Switch 1 sales up for the week of the Switch 2 Direct. Looks like Switch games also got a boost in sales. I am guessing some people who bought Switch 1 versions of games plan on upgrading to the Switch 2 Editions.

I think the Switch 2 Direct caused a boost in sales this week, and I wouldn't be surprised if Switch sales were even higher next week.  The Direct was divisive.  Clearly there are some who saw it and now can't wait to get a Switch 2.  However, others saw it and decided either to seriously delay getting a Switch 2 or not get one altogether.  The pricing in particular really burned some Nintendo fans.

I'm expecting a long tail to Switch sales as some people transition to Switch 2 and others hold fast to Switch 1.

Some people with money to buy a console may have waited Switch 2's direct to see if it would be better to wait a little and buy a Switch 2 or just buy a Switch 1 already

That might be the case globally but why would the price be divisive in Japan when it's priced lower in Japan than other regions?  That's the one country that wouldn't have concerns about hardware pricing.

The Switch did a bit better than expected this week. Nintendo getting so much attention during it probably helped and it's possible the next decline will be somewhat delayed like how it took till March till the Switch 2 announcement started having a big impact so it could do decently for the rest of April and May. Also the Lite notably increased compared to last week and was actually up YoY despite the Switch overall being 50% down so that model is looking like it'll have some staying power though its sales are already low enough to where that's not that big of a deal. Could be crucial for the 160m mark worldwide however.
