Here's my Switch 2 pro controller then. EasySMX 05.
It was less than £30, has hall effect joysticks and works great on PC too.
It's not quite as good as the 8bitdo Ultimate and the battery life is a bit worse, but for the price it's a bargain.

I really didn't expect this to be frank, I thought we'd be forced to buy the new one just to get an extra $114 (AUD, dunno what it costs elsewhere) out of us, would've been an easy way for Nintendo to increase their profit margin.
It's not exactly standard; I think you can use Xbox One controllers on Xbox Series, but I don't think you can play PS5 games with a dualshock 4 for instance.

Correct. Some other examples in history
-DualShock and DualShock 2 are compatible with each other's consoles. One of the few issues is selected games on PS2 that require the rarely used pressure sensitive buttons.
-Atari 2600 and 7800 are compatible with each other's controllers.
I got an Xbox One X in 2024 and it's nice that I can use a Series controller. The used console I got even came with a Series controller instead of an Xbox One controller.
As I've said, the Switch 2 Pro Controller is still a want for me, but not as required to play games since my Pro Controller is still in good shape.
Lifetime Sales Predictions

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

Yeah it sometimes happens, though for instance you couldn't use the Wii U Pro controller on Switch, I don't think you could use the 360 controller on XBO, PS3 controllers didn't work on PS4, etc.
Since it's not a standard thing, it's a nice thing to have on Switch 2 that I personally didn't expect.
Nice! Have a controller in the shape of a GameCube controller that I use with my switch for playing smash. Being able to use past generation controllers is something I have wanted for a time, but thought wouldn't happen since it seems like an easy money grab.
